Once upon a time, Winter Kirstein was born a family of Orientals from the east of the world. They were farmers once but decided to travel to the west world to start their lives anew, they start to be workers and learned some herbs until they start learning and researching what the herbs can do for treatment and became rich. Winter's father was a renowned doctor in their their town and helped every people to be cured and healed, their family weren't greedy. Every Thanksgiving, they always hosted a huge banquet in their home and give every folks some small gifts.

One day, a group of mysterious merchants appeared in the town and was looking for the doctors to help them with their sickness and needed blood to survive. Her father was curious about this sickness and tries to treat one of them with anything he could but he failed, Winter was there when she was helping her father to look through the sickness. When they cannot find the cure, he stopped and suggest not to drink blood as he finds it strange that their main sustenance was only blood. This made the strange merchants hold grudges and left their clinic.

When they thought everything's okay, the strange merchants infiltrated their home that night. Winter was sleeping in her room when she woke up when hearing crashes and thuds in the four walls, she got up quickly and sees blood everywhere. She then hears screams of her beloved mother as she struggles to fight off the interloper, she ran to her mother but they were so strong that one threw the poor girl against the wall, quickly went unconscious...

The girl then opened her eyes to see her mother on the floor in the pool of her own blood, she screams and runs to her mother and tries wake her up. Panic starts to fill the air as she cried on her mother's corpse before the monster who killed her mother walks inside with her father's bloody head, Winter looked at her father and starts crawling away from them. Their eyes, glowed vermillion, was looking at the only human in the household.

"This is the price of refusing us to give what we need." Their leader spoke before one of them strangles Winter and tries her best to fend them off but she couldn't until she found a silver knife and stabs one's arm to free herself before she starts running with all her might.

But she was stabbed in the back with a sharp knife and fell down, blood starts oozing from her back before the leader withdraws the knife from her back and let her blood ooze on the ground. "You are one brave girl, if only you are just being a good girl just like your father said, we would let you live longer. What a shame."

Then one of them told the leader that she's a virgin and his eyes widen, the blood of the virgin is tastier than the usual blood they drink. "What a shame, really... Your blood might be delicious, let me have a taste of it before you bleed to death." And pulls her up to bite her neck, the pain seared through her skin even though she's already numb because of the blood loss. As the leader tasted her blood, he howled in delight and looked at Winter. "If only you didn't resist, I can make you my person." Then drops the dying girl on the floor and left their household, leaving Winter behind as her hatred towards the leader of those monsters had killed her whole family.

Her anger grew and grew inside her until... something snapped inside her.

She woke up gasping for air, then looks around to see she's in the wilderness, with her bloodied dress and her mouth covered with blood. She may not know by then that she's already became one of them. She goes back to their home to see her mother and father dead in a gruesome fashion, all drained out of life with bite marks. It took a few moment to recollect what had happened last night.

She was dying, slowly the venom starts to change her, dehumanizing the dying woman until her eyes turned blood red. She rose from the floor and looks for the source of blood as she was thirsty for the first time. Winter attacks her own friend and drains her blood dry before she was caught by her neighbors and calls the folks to attack her. Winter then fled to the wilderness with the only thing that keeps her human.

The jaded brooch that her mother gave her in her eighteenth birthday, it is said that it was made from the east and became a treasure to her ancestor and then passed down to her. It brings good luck and the only thing Winter could hold onto, keeping the memories of her family with her...

The newborn vampire couldn't go back to her town because of what she is now and got framed of murdering her family, she hated being like this. She hated being one of the people who murdered her and her family. She fled from their town and starts to get used to live as a monster in her whole life.

Over the years, Winter travelled from one town to another every five years so they won't get suspicious of her unageing appearance. She live her life to feed on human blood, she only feed on criminals and got hunted down by a group of hunters. All these years she had been running away from them until one group chose to believe her sentiments and agrees her to be a spy. 

This goes on for two centuries until she was met the leader once again, the leader was too shocked to see Winter and fought her. However, Winter isn't strong enough and lost the fight and fled before the leader could kill her for good. She was injured, bruised and hurt inside, her revenge was never dealt properly. She felt stupid and went into nervous breakdown again, this time with regret and blaming herself. Thinking too much starts makes her feel in pain like her head has split in half until she breaks completely, her blood red eyes changes and slowly making the opposite persona of herself.

Kim Minjeong was born.

Minjeong thought it was a dream of her feeling guilty and all but she never know that the real self of her body is trying to cope up with pain and regret. She was born a full-blood vampire and made friends with fellow vampires but sometimes humans, she's being helpful with both vampires and humans and applied as a groundskeeper in one of the vampire's facility. Not knowing that Winter is already gathering information for the hunters behind the curtains...

• Levitation, Winter uses it to float in the air however, Minjeong doesn't know this quirk.
• Illusion Magic, both Winter and Minjeong uses this power to lure their enemies and some hunters.

• Winter had been spying for a group of hunters and delivering messages more importantly to Jisoo, coming from her elder sister who fled to join the resistance after the vampires chased after her. Winter became her elder sister figure whenever they are opening up some conversation. However, when it comes to Minjeong, it was vice versa.
