The children used their interview resources to create presentations and hosted a Grandparents Day where grandparents were invited to come along, play some old-school style games, hear presentations and enjoy some of the modern school experiences that pupils enjoy today - tablet time, interactive games, Minecraft etc.

1. Captain Ocana landing his plane in the Cork Racecourse. The people in Mallow took Captain Ocana into their hearts. He waited in Mallow for 1 month while a runway was built for him by the people of Mallow.
2. Rakes of Mallow festival- Years ago there was a festival in Mallow called the rakes of Mallow. People from all over the world would come to Mallow to compete.

All smiles, Loredana Florentina greeted us at the door and took us through the history of the village, showing us 100-year-old stitches, weaving looms (she also gave us a demonstration!), gas lamps, wiping and tree trunks, photos and wooden furniture from great-grandparents' attics.
I learned that living here, among these old objects, brings her fulfillment and that she is inspired by nature, people's stories and travels through the country. He doesn't feel like he's working, because he does it with passion and joy, although it's not easy to sew so many wonderful models on the traditional way.

 STORY 1: 
WHO IS THIS STORY  ABOUT? 
It is about a Pope and a lost monastery in the island of Cabrera
DETAILS OF THE  STORY:
The monastery was discovered because of a letter from  Pope Gregory the Great. It can be read: "on the island of Cabrera there are monks who act in a perverse way and against serving God"
WHY DID YOU FIND  IT INTERESTING OR INSPIRING? 
Because, thanks to  a historical document,  the archaeologists could discovered the monastery stones in 1999

STORY 2:   
WHO IS THIS STORY  ABOUT? 
Two giants that gave name to “the giant’s fall”
DETAILS OF THE  STORY:
Once upon a time, there was a giant who lived in Mallorca and another one that lived in Cabrera island. They were angry and they threw stones at each other
WHY DID YOU FIND  IT INTERESTING OR INSPIRING? 
For this reason in Mallorca there are stones of Cabrera and in Cabrera there are stones from Mallorca

A palace maid was assaulted at the royal castle and had to flee through the sewage system. King Jaume II said:" I do not want it to happen again.  I'll  build a comfortable passageway to escape properly".
Few years later, the brother of Jaume II attacked him to take over the kingdom, so he had to escape trough the maid's secret passage for the first and last time. 
It is very important to know it, because it is history where we are now and also what happened in such a tourist place?

STORY 2: "The prisoners at the walls of Madina Mayurqa"

When Palma was owned by the Muslims and they were being besieged by Jaume I, they hung several Christian prisoners on the walls of the city to frighten their army and prevent them from shooting at them. 
What they did not know was that the hanging Christians began to shout at their companions to continue attacking relentlessly and managed to get none of them hurt. This showed solidarity with others and to take risks to save their companions.

What is your favorite or most inspirational story from local history?          It would be King Jaume I because he made a lot of history in Mallorca and promoted the expansion of the crown of Aragon towards the Mediterranean.
What do you like about living here?               I like the beaches, the climate, the order and quality of transports, the care for pedestrian crossings, the politeness and attention to the public in shopping centers, the deployment of vehicular traffic and the care for the elderly.
What is your Favourite personal memory of this locality?                    Walk along the seashores with the tall, green and beautiful palm trees. Sunset in Mallorca, it is an unforgettable walk!
