Ṭahārah </em></strong></p><p><em>• Wuḍū'/Tayammum</em></p><p><em>• </em>An ablution or cleansing ritual that is an important part of purity and cleanliness in Islam. </p><p>• It follows a process to wash hands, mouth, nostrils, arms, face, ears, hair and feet. </p><p>• It prepares one mentally and physically ahead of prayer and must therefore be performed correctly.</p><p>• Tayammum is performed by using clean instead of water.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>ii. Conditions for the Acceptance</strong></p><ol><li><p><strong>Ensuring the purity</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Purity of Place</strong></p><ul><li><p>The area where we perform our salah must be clean and free from impurities.&nbsp;</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Purity of Body</strong> </p><ul><li><p>We must be free from major and minor impurities (like after urination or sexual activity).&nbsp;</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Purity of Clothing</strong></p><ul><li><p>The clothes worn must also be clean and free from impurities.&nbsp;</p></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Performing Wudu</strong></p><ul><li><p>Abulation (wudu) is obligated before prayer to purify ourselves.</p></li></ul></li></ul></li><li><p><strong>Covering the Awrah</strong></p><p>• Our private parts of the body must be covered during salah.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Facing the Qibla</strong></p><p>• We must face the Kaaba in Mecca (the qibla) during prayer.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Time</strong></p><p>•  Salah must be performed according to its specific, prescribed times pr when adzan.</p></li><li><p><strong>Intention (Niyyah)</strong></p><p>• We must have the sincere intention to perform the specific prayer.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Takbiratul Ihram</strong></p><p>• The opening "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) must be recited to begin the prayer.&nbsp;</p></li></ol><p><br></p><p><strong>iii. Pillars of <em>Ṣalāh</em></strong></p><ol><li><p><strong>Standing (Qiyam)</strong></p><p>• Standing upright, if able.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Recitation (Qira'ah)</strong></p><p>• Reciting Surah Al-Fatihah and other verses from the Quran.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Bowing (Ruku')</strong></p><p>• Bowing with the back straight.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Prostration (Sujud)</strong></p><p>• Touching the forehead, nose, palms, knees, and toes to the ground.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Sitting</strong></p><p> • Sitting in between prostrations and at the end of the prayer.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Recitation of Tashahhud</strong></p><p>• Reciting the Tashahhud (testimony) in the sitting position.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Saying Salam</strong></p><p>• Turning the face to the right and left and saying "Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah".&nbsp;</p></li></ol><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>iv. Qasr &amp; Jama’</strong></p><p><strong>• Conditions </strong></p><ul><li><p>Generally allowed for travelers who are actively traveling or facing difficult circumstances.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ol><li><p><strong>Qasr (Shortening Prayers):</strong></p></li></ol><ul><li><p><strong>Purpose:</strong> To reduce the burden of prayer during travel, especially when the journey is long or tiring.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Applicability:</strong> Typically, for prayers with four rak'ahs (Dhuhr, Asr, and Isha).&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Method:</strong> Shortening the prayer from four rak'ahs to two.&nbsp;</p></li></ul><ol start="2"><li><p><strong>Jama' (Combining Prayers):</strong></p></li></ol><ul><li><p><strong>Purpose:</strong></p><p>To allow travelers to combine two prayers into one prayer time, further easing their burden.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Types:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Jama' Taqdim:</strong> Combining the prayers during the time of the earlier prayer (e.g., Dhuhr and Asr in the time of Dhuhr).&nbsp;</p></li><li><p><strong>Jama' Tak'hir:</strong> Combining the prayers during the time of the later prayer (e.g., Maghrib and Isha in the time of Isha).&nbsp;</p></li></ul></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> ii. Nawafil Salah</strong></p><p><em>• Salāt al-nafl</em> or optional prayer, is a type of a non-obligatory prayer but will give extra reward to the person performing it.</p><p>• Similar to sunnah prayer </p><p>• Type of Nawafil Salah</p><ul><li><p>Tahiyyat al Masjid</p></li><li><p>Tahiyyat al Wudu</p></li><li><p>Ishraaq/Duha/Chasht Prayer</p></li><li><p>Awabeen Prayer</p></li><li><p>Four Rak'aah Sunnah of Dhuhr</p></li><li><p>Four Rak'aah Sunnah of Asr</p></li><li><p>Two Rak'aah Sunnah of Maghrib</p></li><li><p>Two Rak'aah Sunnah of Isha</p></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>iii.
