         <description><![CDATA[<div><br><strong>READ</strong> the following <strong>EXAMPLE</strong> to yourself,  based on "The Names" poem from earlier in the year, before trying to write one with your group. The only reason <strong>second line is in bold is so you can clearly see the three separate sentences.</strong><br><br></div><div>          Billy Collins’ poem, “The Names”, expresses <strong>sorrow</strong> in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy and expresses the need to remember the people who died as the individuals they were<strong>.</strong>  <strong>Although Collins’ poem makes the reader want to know all the names of the victims, it literally uses, ”Twenty-six willows on the banks of a stream” to figuratively represent all the victims through 26 individual names for each letter of the alphabet. </strong>It is especially touching to realize the diversity of the names within the imagery presented in the poem, even accounting for the unknown victims who are represented by the letter X “(let X stand, if it can, for the ones unfound)<strong>.</strong>”</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
