This sculpture of the Parthenon Temple shows a centaur triumphing on a dying human Lapis，The Parthenon Temple was completed in 432 BC on the site of an unfinished temple destroyed by the Persians，This concern for human suffering reflects the strong humanistic spirit of Greek art. The sculpture also represents the Greek struggle against being absorbed by the Persian Empire. The Greeks had a strong sense of their identity, and they regarded Persians as barbarians like Centaurs。

The Great Wave is probably the most iconic Japanese art in the world，and this photo was created by Beizhai when he was about 70 years old. It is part of his 36 Fuji Mountain series. Moreover,The strange composition of this picture is a show off of Beizhai, which shows how he digested the so-called "rational" European style view and created something more dramatic and exciting from it. When European artists and collectors began to discover and celebrate this print at the end of the 19th century, they probably consciously or unconsciously responded to this European influenced visual way deeply rooted in the image.
