The poet is trying to show that both sides are the same. They are being controlled by people in power and they do not want war, but they are forced to hate each other.

2. Yes, because if I stand in his position, I can feel the hatred, the scariness, the pain and unsatisfactory. Who wants who, no want, but forced to do something they don’t want to.

3. Some would find it easy to hate the enemy because the enemy must have done something very bad to the country or done something terrible that led the soldiers to hate the opposite side.

4. Some would find it difficult because the soldiers might have a friend that belongs to the enemy or families and friends.

I think that the poet’s opinion of war is that he doesn’t want a war entirely since he likes to live in Germany and also he is British too. “ We stumble and we do not understand” supports this as i think the poet says that even though they are fighting they don’t understand why.

He thinks negatively of war and hopes that it ends soon.
I agree, because his opinion is  realistic as he is very considerate towards his “enemies”. 
I think because with all the propaganda surrounding them, they were taught to hate the “enemy”. 
I think some would be more sensible and thoughtful towards the “enemy” as they are both suffering from war. He is trying to balance out both sides by mentioning his opinions both positive and negatively.

I agree because he showed his opinion about war and how horrific it is.
