I always enjoy learning new tech, but will say that I much prefer Google sites to this format and will likely transfer my information
*I really like the We Need Diverse Books resource. I have liked them on facebook and love the most up to date articles. There are a vast number of resources linked to their site to help you find books on a wide variety of multicultural topics
*My favorite book was Ron's Big Mission. I had never heard this story about astronaut Ron McNair as a child. He loved the library and reading books. There are so many different topics and categories and each one has so many books.
Favorite Book: This is a hard choice. I liked every book I read for my multicultural passport. I think if forced to chose, my favorite would be The Girl Who Thought in Pictures: The Story of Temple Grandin by Julia Finley Mosea. That is the NPR Book Concierge - an annual platform for book reviews that increasingly includes more diverse options and independent selections.

My favorite book that I read for the Multicultural Passport was The First Rule of Punk by Celia C. It is a fabulous site that provides multiple comprehensive book lists and activities focusing on different topic areas. The site also highlights character education themes such as a "Kindness Kit" and "Empathy Kit" that includes books, activities and discussion guides. Excellent guide that lists book links that re-direct you to the book's site for more information and a detailed summary.

My favorite book is “I am Enough” by Grace Byers. It is a beautiful, must read picture book that reminds readers that they "are enough". Focusing on self-acceptance as well as appreciating the differences of those around us. And ultimately creating a world that is more loving and kind. It is so thoughtfully written and sweet!

I used Google Sites so that it could be easily added to, plus it could be linked up easily to our Google classroom/Google for education platform at my school district. My favorite resources were probably the articles I found through VOYA about the need for diverse books--and the youtube videos of Rudine Bishop Sims talking about mirrors, windows, and sliding doors!
My favorite book was a toss-up between Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds and Undefeated: Jim Thorpe and the Carlisle Indian School Football Team by Steve Sheinkin. Both were totally engrossing, powerful books--and got me excited to share them particularly with middle grade boy readers since they're reluctant to read--they're accessible and they're about topics they'd totally get into (and girls would too). Great premises for both (and one is fiction and one nonfiction).
