The jakun tribe are strict with their do's and dont's in their daily life. that implies also towards their celebrations. for the Bela Kampung ceremony, these are activities that are considered as a taboo.

For three days in a row, the villagers are prohibited to:
1. Hoeing or plowing
2. Take a low noisy shower
3. Pick all types of living plants

4. Peeling a banana stem or bark that resembles white light.
5. Allowing other villagers to enter the village that has been ‘defended’ (fenced\dibela).

The top is called Gaung, paired with long sleeve pants with the same gold trimmings, called Souva. For women, they have a lot of accessories, one of the accessories is called Hamai, it’s a sash made out of gold coins called Himpogot. The top hat is called a Siga. It is also worn during weddings, and big family gatherings when necessary.
