To fully understand my name, it must be broken into its three separate parts. The first part of my name is James. My parents chose James as my first name because it was the name of my great uncle. My parents chose this name because they felt it was a good use of a good family name. The second part of my name is Timothy. This was chosen as my middle name because it is my father's first name. My parents chose this as my middle name because they felt I would one day embody the morals and other unique personality traits of my father. The last part of my name is Golden. My last name was given to myself because it is part of my family. My name has been handed down to me from a great uncle, my father, and a family of hardworking individuals. My father's side of the family has always shown a devotion to the work they do that shows dedication and determination. A couple of summers back I decided that I wanted to begin longboarding so I bought my first board from a good friend. Since then I have gained new knowledge, abilities, and love for this sport. Longboarding is important for me because it is a way to force my mind to think about nothing but staying on the board and the environment around me. This helps me clear my mind and find peace. The other objects in the picture provide safety while riding. I utilize the helmet as a way to not crack my head open and the gloves as a way to put my hands to the ground without harming them. These objects together have the ability to show a great cultural relevancy as they can be used around the world in the same way that I use it. Furthermore, being a white male from a well-off family who was able to afford a nice home with plenty of land has its advantages also. We live in a society where we are currently seeing an uprooting of life as our parents knew it. In this current day and age many people have spoken out against the privileges that some people have and how the world should be full of fairness and not privileges.
