         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Himalayas are a 2,400-kilometer mountain range in southern Asia that separates the northern plains of the Indian subcontinent. But how did these majestic mountains form?<br><br>The Himalayas were formed by the collision of two of these plates: the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate. This process began about 50 million years ago and continues to this day.<br><br>As the Indian plate began to move north, it approached the Eurasian plate and began to push underneath it. The friction between the two plates caused intense seismic and volcanic activity, and the Earth's crust began to fold and rise.<br><br>The first step in the formation of the Himalayas was the creation of a subduction zone where the Indian plate began to sink beneath the Eurasian plate. This caused fusion of the Indian plate material, which then rose to the surface to form a large mountain range.<br><br>As the Indian plate continued to move north, it continued to push under the Eurasian plate. The result was intense volcanic and seismic activity that led to the continual uplift of the mountain range. Over time, the Himalayas became one of the highest mountain ranges in the world.<br><br>Today, the Himalayas are still forming, but at a much slower rate. The mountain range rises about 5mm per year due to the ongoing tectonic and volcanic activity in the region.<br><br>In conclusion, the formation of the Himalayas was the result of the collision of two tectonic plates, which caused intense volcanic and seismic activity that led to the elevation of the mountain range. Although the process began 50 million years ago, tectonic and volcanic activity in the region continues to this day.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>Andes Mountains are located in South America, specifically are located from Colombia to Argentina. The Andes Mountains are formed in a process called Subduction. This process means that it produces the sinking of a plate, in this case was the collide of two plates and one of them sinks underneath the other plate.<br><br>The first stage ocurred when two plates collide . The frist plate was continental (South America) and the second one is an oceanic plate (Nazca); so these two plates move towards each other and they collide. The Nazca plate is more heavier and denser compares with South America plate, for this reason the Nazca plate sinks underneath the Continental plate.<br><br>At the same time in the subduction zone its produces magma and this goes on to form a volcano. But as this plate is subducted the rocks that was on the base get pushed up.&nbsp;<br><br>These rocks&nbsp; with the heat and pressure turns into these large mountains, that we know like Andes Mountains.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Island consists in a volcanic island full of sea mountains, glaciers, and volcanic deserts whose interior is mostly uninhabited. This place is a classic example of hot springs and geysers. Hot springs are underground water that are heated due to contact with volcanic rocks and geysers are special hot springs that experience periodic eruptions of hot water and steam.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The first stage of the Island formation was the volcanic activity between two tectonic plates, the North American Plate and the Eurasian Plate. The tectonic activity between this plate have made the earth's crust thin, which has allowed the magma and the heat of it to come to the surface.<br><br></div><div><br></div><div>At the same time that the tectonic activity takes place, the magma comes up to the surface to fill up the space created by the plate separation. This process over many thousand years creates a large quantity of active volcanoes on the Island, mountains and glaciers.</div><div><br></div><div>Over 20 millions of years, this tectonic activity was repeated many times giving the Island geography as a result, where it is expected to have volcanic activity each four years.<br><br></div><div>In 2010 the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano erupted after 190 years of inactivity, this natural process attracted tourists and generated a massive ash that reached 10 km of atmosphere affecting the air traffic of some flights from Europe.<br><br></div><div><br></div><div>Meanwhile, Island is taking its normal course, the Islan authorities works closely with Scientists and experts to monitor the geological activity and develop emergency plans in case of eruptions and earthquake’s to protect its population.<br><br></div>]]></description>
