Causes: British prime minister Neville Chamberlain wanted to keep Adolph Hitler from starting World War II. People were trying to make agreements because they didn't want another World War. Other countries like France were also not willing to go through the amount of damage a world war would cause.
Consequences: Hitler continued to violate the Treaty of Versailles and nobody opposed him. Chamberlain was seen as a weak leader who allowed Nazism to spread in Europe.
