Through the use of your digitally convergent device you can also phone up BBC radio 1 breakfast show, to suggest a song to be played on the broadcasting platform. Which therefore, allows you to interact with the live show itself and allows the audience to further engage with it.

BBC iplayer has allowed consumers to access past recording of radio sets. This catalyses an increase in viewers becasue those that are not able to access radio when live can now catch up. As a result, this leads to further traffic on the BBC website hence promoting various other services that they offer.

BBc Radio in particular have self promoted their own platforms. For example: bbciplayer and have mentioned the twitter of the radio presenter (Nick Grimshaw).

This shows how easy it is to get access to the platforms and increases the amount of users.

It also allows more viewers to catch up with the show (if they missed it) again effecting the amount of views the broadcast gets.

Using platforms and social media is quite effective for both audience and the presenters as it creates more interaction during live shows and creates a whole new topic to tlk about. FOR EXAMPLE: Celebrity tweets and even BBC previous catch up shows etc.
