Today is the first day of my internship at M Suites Hotel Johor Bahru. I will in charge in housekeeping department as maid with permanent maid on sixth floor, madam Sapina as my tutor. Today I learn about standard operating procedure as housekeeping worker which are:
1. ringing room's bell
2. notify the guests that we are from housekeeping department
3. if there is guest in the occupied room, ask them if they want to clean their room or not
4. if there is no guest in the room, open up the door and says 'excuse me'
5. step inside the room, clean and tidy up their room either occupied or check out rooms

Today i learn about how to clean up and set up toilet in guest's room properly. Here the steps to clean and tidy up the toilet :
1. Firstly, i need to clean up the dustbin and replace the dustbin's plastic with the new one.
2. Next, i need to clean up the mirror on the sink.
3. After that, clean up the sink and put the toiletries.
4. Clean up the toilet bowl use multipurpose liquid.
5. Clean up the bath tub so that it will be clean as new.
6. Put towel on the towel rack and also bath mat on the side of bath tub.
7. Make sure toilet floor always dry and clean.

Today my tutor teach me how to clean up and also set up kitchen's need in each of guests room. First of all, i need to clean up the dustbin in the kitchen. Next, i need to clean up kitchen's sink and then put up the kitchen's need which are mineral water, sugar, creamer, tea and coffee. On the other hand, i need to clean up and make sure glass and coffee cup are in dry condition. In addition, i need to check up the drawer, wardrobe and refrigerator if there are garbage or things that guest's left. Last but not least, i need to wiping all over the kitchen so that there is no dust and clean for guests.

For today, my supervisor tell me to help another permanent maid on third floor which is miss Hijrah as my tutor. Before starting the work, we need to set up our housekeeping trolley which full with our needs to clean and tidy up guest's room such as toiletries, tissues, towel, duvet, bed sheet, mineral water and others. After that, we start our routine which is cleaning occupied and check out rooms.

Today my tutor teach me how to set up bed for occupied rooms and check out rooms. The difference of setting bed between occupied and check out rooms is for occupied rooms, we just need to re do the set up of bed without changing with the new bed sheet, pillow case and duvet cover while vise versa for check our rooms. Step for set up bed in guest rooms are shown as follow:

For today, my tutor teach me how to wiping, sweeping, moping and vacuuming room's floor. This is the last thing which we need to do every time while cleaning check out rooms. For the occupied rooms, we just need to sweep the floor while the premier rooms we need to vacuum the carpet.

Today my first job is vacuuming room's corridor. After that, me and my tutor doing our routine which start with arranging lining (towel, bed sheets, pillow cases, bath mat, duvet cover) in our trolley. Then we will cleaning and set up occupied also check out rooms which started with cleaning kitchen area, toilet, set up bed, wiping furniture, vacuuming and lastly moping room's floor. Last but not least, before we leaves, we need to top up room's amenities in the trolley so that tomorrow we just need to arrange linen before start do our routine. My routine can be conclude in the picture below

For the first nine rooms, i'm only cleaning up also setting up kitchen and toilet area while the last two rooms, mr khalid tell me to practice to setting bed.

- Before starting cleaning up rooms, we must stock up our trolley which
we need to stock up amenities, bed sheet, duvet, towel and others.
- Then i'm doing my daily routine such as cleaning kitchen and toilet
area, sweeping, moping, vacuuming and wiping.
- We manage to clean up total of 20 checked out and occupied rooms
for today.

- As usual, i'm helping Mdm Seri to fold pillow cases before divide to
give for each level so that it will ease maid's job to setting bed.
- For today, i'm partner up with mdm Sapina who is permanent maid on
level 6. Dust mop corridor is my first assignment while Madam Sapina
will stock up trolley after we arrives at our own level.
- Madam Sapina teach me how to setting bed and she let me do it by
myself after she give me guidance. It's quiet difficult task for me due
to it's my first time doing bed.
- In conclusion, we manage to clean up 20 checked out rooms and
there is no occupied room on level 6 for today.

- Due to level 2 is busy today, my supervisor tell me to help permanent
maid on level 2 which is Mr Danial.
- There are 5 occupied rooms while 18 checked out rooms that we need to clean up.
- Mr Danial teach me how to increase my speed of cleaning up kitchen
and toilet area with proper ways.
- We manage to clean up total of 20 rooms only due to there are 2
rooms that have 3 bedrooms which we need to spent a lot of time to
clean it up.

- Due to permanent maid on level 5 which is Raj is on his off day, me
and Madam Sapina will cover up half of his level.
- We manage to clean up 8 occupied rooms while 20 checked out
rooms.

percent of arrival and departure on level 2.
- There are 2 occupied rooms and 18 checked out rooms that we need
to clean up for today.
- Scenic group pays low price rates, due to they only
checked in for not more than half day. Hence, we must take put coffee
and tea set in their rooms. There are 8 rooms that they will check in
on this evening.
- As conclusion, we manage to clean up all of checked out and
occupied rooms.

arrival rates. For this time, we exchange our routine which is I will
setting bed while my partner Miss Hijrah will clean up kitchen and
toilet area. This is my opportunity to accelerate my speed of setting
bed.
- It's my challenges to setting bed faster due to the bed is very heavy
and I need to setting it with proper posture so that it will not cause
any injured to my body.
- As conclusion, we manage to clean up 15 rooms for today and we left
4 vacant dirty rooms to clean up by tomorrow.

2 hours (9 am - 11 am). After that, we continue cleaning 15 checked
out rooms.
- For conclusion, today we manage to clean up 20 rooms.

- Today I will help permanent maid on level 3 which is miss Hijrah. After
reach at our level, we stock up our trolley. Miss Hijrah stock up linen
such as duvet, bed sheet and pillow cases while i'm stock up
amenities such as tooth brush, soap, shampoo, lotion, tea, coffee,
sugar, creamer and others.
- After done stock up our trolley, we continue to clean up checked out
and occupied rooms.
- We manage to clean up 3 occupied rooms and 19 checked out
rooms before 5.00 pm.

permanent maid on level 1. Then, at 1.00 pm my supervisor tell me to help permanent maid on level 2.

- Due to low occupancy and arrival, we need to do dirty cleaning which
cleaning rooms according standard operation such as wiping all of
the cabinet in the rooms using wiping spray, cleaning whole toilet
using acidic multipurpose so that the toilet will be shiny and look as
new, cleaning toilet bowl tank and others.
- We manage to do dirty cleaning for 15 rooms.

terrace area then continue with take care of section a for breakfast

- After end of breakfast session, i'm wiping buffet counter and setting
for lunch buffet session of 70 pax which start at 12.30 pm.
- For lunch session, take care of section b. Then, after end of lunch buffet session, i'm helping back area assignment which is rearrange plates, bowls and cutlery at their own places.
- Before going back, i'm preparing three side tables for the next shift.

- First of all, i'm helping my supervisor arranging goblet that used for
lunch in the wardrobe after she finished wiping it.
- Next, i'm arranging plates and bowls at their own places.
- After break time, i'm doing back area assignment which wiping and
arranging cutlery, bowls and plates at their own places.
- For dinner session, i'm duty as hostess which i need to tick guess's
dinner voucher and count how many of them that come in.
- After end of dinner buffet session, i'm clearing buffet counter and take
care of bar's duty which are washing goblet, serving gear that used for
dinner session, clean up the fruit juicer machine and lastly wiping
bar's tables.

- After that, my supervisor tell me to be the hostess for both breakfast
and lunch session which have 128 pax for breakfast while 35 pax for
lunch session.

setting for dinner buffet session due to there is no lunch buffet
session.
- In addition, after done setting buffet counter for dinner, there is
afternoon tea break (surprise birthday party) which i'm assigned to

- Then, i'm continue with preparing all side tables for breakfast session
and i'm assigned to take care of all section due to there are only 50 of
breakfast buffet session for today.
- After end of breakfast session, we preparing buffet counter for lunch
session which have 180 pax and we need to setting 2 line of buffet
counter because of number of pax is exceed 70 pax.
- Next, for lunch buffet session, i'm assigned to take care of section a
with Mr Hakimi.
- Then we clearing the buffet counter at 2.30pm and setting the buffet counter for tomorrow's breakfast session.
- Before going back, i'm helping my friends in the back area which rearrange cutlery, plates and bowls at their own places.

- Due to shortage of employees in housekeeping department, today i'm
coming back to housekeeping department.
- First of all, my supervisor give me assignment to clean up rooms at
level 3 that i could do before break which at 11am due to waiting
another employee that incharge on level 3 to come work.
- I'm only can clean up 1 room because of i take a lot of time to stock
up trolley.
- After break, me and my colleague continue cleaning up occupied and
check out rooms.
- We manage to clean up 14 rooms and at 5 o'clock my supervisor tell
me to help maid on level 2 which id Mr Danial.
- We can back home after finishing 3 rooms on level 2.

group MARA Sabah in total of 12 rooms.

group scenic that will check in on 6pm.

to after break time he must help to bring extra bed that we borrow
from other hotel around us. This is because tomorrow there are 530
pax of MARA group from all states in Malaysia that will check in on
this weekend.
- After break time, i'm helping madam Sapina who is permanent maid
on level 6 to clean up checked out rooms and occupied rooms on
level 6 then continue with back up level 2 due to mr Danial already go
out to borrow extra bed from other hotels.

out rooms until 1 o'clock due to there is not enough employeeswithin
high rate of departure.
- First of all, i'm doing dust mop corridor on level 6 while madam
Sapina stock up trolley. Then we clean up occupied rooms first then
follow by checked out rooms. There are 10 checked out rooms that
i'm manage to help madam Sapina until 1 o'clock.
- After 1pm, my supervisor tell me to help mr Shafif who is maid that responsible to replace miss Hijrah due to her off day today.
- I'm manage to help mr Sharif to clean up 7 checked out rooms and 1 occupied room.

replacement maid will get in on 11pm, my supervisor tell me to clean
up rooms by myself before i'll help mr Sharif continue it.

break time, i'm helping mr Sharif to clean up 15 checked out rooms.
- At 3.30pm my supervisor tell me to help miss Hijrah who is maid on
level 3 due to there are a lot of vacant dirty rooms and checked out
rooms on her level.

- After break time, my supervisor tell me to help miss Hijrah on level 3

- Today is my last day in housekeeping department and also my last
day internship in M Suites Hotel JB due to i'm claim my public holiday.
- Today i'm helping mr Danial on level 2 which we manage to clean up 3
checked out rooms before break time.
- After break time, my supervisor which is madam Azura take me to
look around in the hotel which i can take pictures of all facilities that
provided by M Suites Hotel.
- Next, i'm continue with helping mr Danial clean up another 10 rooms
and lastly they celebrate my last day by eating together.
