I think micromuseums are outcomes of an individual’s good obsession with certain objects. These museums cover subjects as diverse as lawnmowers, lead mining, and toy. Since it sometimes looks very clumsy due to the lack of a system for ‘a museum’ in every aspect, so it is interesting to read how Pollock, individual, started and the entire story behind the small toy museum with this well-organized pamphlet.

David Mellor-who said he's an 'animal lover'- is the Minister responsible for the Government's proposals on animal experiments. I learned from this book the principle of lesbian in sadomasochism and a positive interest in sadomasochism. There is a place where pain and pleasure are synonymous, and equally meager descriptions of the ecstasy therein. Is this a kind of pathological? What is morbidity? Is this a minority? Is there no fetish mentality deep in the human mind? I hope to speak up for normalising fetishes and explore the kink shaming in people's minds.

I believe that we all have this kind of moment that we don't want to talk to our friends or family but we hope there is someone for us who carefully steers clear of what we don’t want to mention and response to our problems. It was interesting how the book was written from the point of view of the doll, allowing readers to view the world through her eyes. Social issues like class discrimination were also weaved into the story. This was evident from how the doll’s first owner had to give her up to a wealthier family, simply because the child took a liking to the doll. I was drawn to this object as it functioned almost like the doll’s personal diary, prompting me to think more about people’s treasured objects, and the stories behind them.

My topic is to let people know the dangers of nuclear radiation, and understand the causes of nuclear weapons, nuclear leakage and other related problems and rescue measures. The magazine has a good explanation of how the element nuclear is made, where radiation comes from and all kinds of radiation. And how long it would take for the world to heal after a nuclear explosion.

There are serval interesting knowledge inside this booklet. It contains 'Cosmic rays'; 'generated radiations' ; 'Fusion' ; 'Alpha ,beta and gamma rays' ; 'the nuclear of the atom' and so on.

The point is Radiation actually exists everywhere, high energy radiations are heating down on the earth all the time. For instance: sun , other parts of the galaxy; rocks, particularly from granite. But human body itself contains materials that emit radiation. Obviously human body has been able to adapt itself and to thrive in the presence of these radiation. But when humans receive large amounts of radiation all at once, cells in the body are destroyed immediately after exposure. So up to now, there is no way to save patients who have been hit by high doses of radiation. All humans can do is protect themselves from nuclear radiation

The collection included posters about reading clubs, group of women meeting to talk, book signings by women authors, theatre workshops, announcement of plays and many more. This particular poster intrigued me for a number of reasons. The illustration by Ken Meharg shows the protagonist, Mummy (depicted as a skeletal figure as well as the mother of four children) holding herself, her family and her house together. It compares her ageing to the dilapidating condition of the house, both needing care. Being a powerful and a strong-willed woman, she seeks to challenge death, confront her anxiousness and fear directly as opposed to resigning to her present, possibly unhappy condition. With the Women's Liberation movement in the 1900s and the rise of the independent feminist presses, this play would have been produced at a time when women took the matter of self care into their own hands, where personal became political. With respect to this particular play, it was not easy to find any information about it online except the year in which the play was produced. The poster seems to be the only memory of such a play. This play seems to challenge the healthcare system in UK and it's possible inability to help women with their needs, with sarcasm and wry humour.

Chinese dictionary (Kangyi and Yating）

In this project, I chose a Chinese dictionary at home as the archive I want to "activate" because I saw some reports about the Chinese character "Yuan" when browsing Chinese social media. In the past two years, there have been some words about the word "Yuan" on social media platforms, which have attached negative labels to women and created a lot of stereotypes

This reminds me of Chinese characters. Chinese characters with female radicals and words describing women in Chinese characters usually represent derogatory and stigmatization. For example, [miss]originally meant to be a respectful title for young women, but now women have lost a normal title because of the existence of the pornographic industry [stigmatized sex workers]

Language is the material shell of consciousness, and the structure of Chinese characters has a high information density. The meaning of a Chinese character can be inferred through the dismantling of characters and the components and radicals. Through these stigmatized Chinese characters next to female characters, we can observe the era background and female status reflected behind them. As a woman, I also hope to explore the behind from the metaphor of these Chinese characters The story is passed to you from my standpoint, which is the inspiration and motivation of my creation.

Memories of London - 175 years ago

I found a large bound book of intimate memories of London from the 1850’s; published in 1910. I found the book by searching for key words, such as memory and recollection.

One particular memory details a 'favourite' country walk through a small town on the outskirts of London called Hornsey. As London has rapidly changed over the time since the article was written, I was inspired to follow this walk and retrace the steps of a journey made over 150 years ago; to see what remains of the memory of the small town and how it has changed.

I am inspired by the question of how we remember things, is it a reductive process, foggy, murky, pixelated, or is it additive, accumulative, an amalgamation or layering. In the article in 1910 it talks of ‘Village Landmarks Swept away by Suburban Growth. With London rapidly changing further still, questions regarding gentrification, new developments and the longevity of memory are more important than ever.
