Final Portrait: Technically Successful

I believe that my final project was quite successful because line work is really good compared to my flat pancake face that I made in the beginning of term 4. The lines of the pencil were smooth and crisp, making it feel finished and just overall amazing. So thank you Procreate and studio pen for the succession of this final!

Interior Painting: Visually Successful + Conveying Emotion

Visually Successful: My visually successful piece of artwork was my interior. I liked how the brush strokes look messy but intentional, the texture of the strokes really helped convey my artwork and give it character. The heart cake and the off putting stuffed animals really gave it life and it made it seem innocent but creepy at the same time. There are no words that can describe how happy I am that my piece came out so well, I'm just in love with it!

Conveys Emotion: My interior painting was so cute and messed-up at the same time. When you glance at it it looks very peaceful and cute but when you really observe my piece you'll see the ripped off bear head, cake splatter and bear stuffing everywhere! So I really wanted to make people go on a roller coaster of emotion and really dive into my piece to understand it.

My comic portrait 2 was really special to me because it made me long to be a kid again. Being a kid is so easy because there's no pressure in college or finding a job, you're just a kid. I missed the uncomfortable costumes my family would put me in and the smell of crayons and markers. So when someone sees my painting I want them to feel a sense of innocence and sweetness, something that looks happy and peaceful.

Choose 3 of the following questions

Question 1: Describe a project that was somehow influenced by another member of the class, whether
someone gave you an idea, helped with a skill, or gave you feedback.

When working on my final I observed how people used their line work and I saw how my
portfolio was lacking in depth and shape. So I wanted to improve my work by looking at other peoples
line work and getting a good idea out of it. And let me tell you, it helped me so much to thank people
from the other class!

Question 2: Describe a project that you could not have accomplished without help from the teacher.

My comic portrait 2 was quite hard to plan because I couldn’t get a good idea on how I should
do my background. However, Ms. Sheppard came to the resume and helped me create a cartoony fun
background that was just amazing. So I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for the fantabulous
Ms. Sheppard!

Question 3: Describe your most or least favorite project, and explain why. If it’s your least favorite, what
would have made it better? If your most favorite, what suggestions do you have for next
semester, to make sure students enjoy it as much as you did?

My least favorite project was making the animals out of shapes. I felt like we did it for so long
and it wasn't really a lot of fun (sorry). However, I have an idea that could still integrate the texture we
were working on this semester. Maybe if we took a picture of ourselves and made our clothes textured?
