Students will learn to treat others how they would like to be treated. My classroom is a zero tolerance bully free zone, and if problem is not resolved immediately it will follow with a meeting with the principal, parents and myself. When they come in in the morning, they take a little yellow person and put it in their pocket. Then, throughout the day, they can earn good tallies or bad tallies for their behavior. Good tallies stay in their pocket all day, but bad ones can be earned out if they turn around and make better choices. 
It is important for students to learn that they are responsible for their own behavior. The tallies for the chart will show them their behavioral choices. 
Appropriate Choices :
Orange : Super Behavior 
Blue : Super Listening 
Purple : Super Work 
Inappropriate Choices 
Red : Classroom Misbehavior
Yellow : Misbehavior Outside of Classroom
Green : Poor Work Habits 
This system is designed so that we know on a daily basis what kind of choices your child is making at school. Students will receive an "O" for Outstanding, "N" for Needs Improvement, or an "U" for Unsatisfactory which means they made 3 or more inappropriate choices. If your child receives a U or N please discuss the behavior with your child so they can correct the problem. 
The first tally will be a warning, the second will be a note sent home, and third will be loss of recess or other activity. 
This system helps with self control and self discipline
