Answer the review questions when you are adding and subtracting mixed numbers!

1. What is a mixed number
2. What is an improper fraction?
3. How do you change between the two forms?
4. How do you add mixed numbers? Show me an example!
5. How do you subtract mixed numbers? Show me an example!

1.A mixed number is where you have a whole number and a fraction
2. A improper fraction is a fraction
where the numerator is bigger than
the denomenator
3.You write two wholes and the fraction than you multiply your whole number and denominator and what you got you add the numerator to what you got than you bring the denominator over than what you got you put it as the denominater
4.when your adding mixed numbers you have to find the LCM to properly add the mixed numbers but if the denominators are equal you can add the mixed numbers with no problem at all
5.when your subtracting a mixed number you write the mixed number than you burrow than you take one from the whole # than you add the denominator to t
he top number than subtract.

1. A mixed number is a fraction with a whole number.
2. A improper fraction is When the numerator is bigger than the denominator.
3. how you change two forms is you list the multiples and find the LCM and find what multiples is the same. ( leats common multiples mean LCM)
4. How do you add mixed numbers? well you have your number right? you take the denominator of your number and find the LCM then you take your new denominator and make sure your other number has the same LCM. then you multiply how many numbers it took to get to your LCM. then you make sure you can add the numerator also add the whole numbers then you add the fractions..
5. How do you subtract mixed numbers? First, you have to take the denominator and find the LC M. Next, you cross out the whole number from the first fraction and add the numerator of that number.
