         <description><![CDATA[<div>An engineer-turned-academic leader, David Victor Rosowsky is the vice president for research at Kansas State University. Working across departments and disciplines, David Rosowsky is helping to expand the university's research and economic development portfolios, helping to build and support multidisciplinary teams of teams of faculty researchers, forging university-industry partnerships, and ensuring that the university's research activity meets both the compliance requirements and the growing needs of the evolving mandates in the academic, government, and corporate world.<br><br>Dr. Rosowsky’s leadership journey began as a department head at Texas A&amp;M University, after which he became dean of engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Currently, his work at Kansas State University involves supporting the integration of creative and research pursuits across the institute’s network of research centers.<br><br>Alongside this work, Dr. Rosowsky has published more than 350 papers and articles, both in his area of engineering expertise and in higher education leadership. He has performed research on wood structural system performance, structural reliability, and response of infrastructure systems subject to natural hazards. His research has helped engineers, communities, and owners to better estimate building loss and condition following natural disasters.<br><br>A registered professional engineer, David Victor Rosowsky is a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Structural Engineering Institute.<br><br></div>]]></description>
