However, many students are less aware of the negative impacts of AI on them, such as dependency, decreased critical thinking skills, decreased learning motivation, and privacy and data leaks, which are the most serious impacts.

•Arguments:

Argument 1: Dependency, students depend on AI to complete assignments and reduce their ability to make their own efforts. The National Education Policy Center explains that students who rely on AI have lower problem solving abilities.

Argument 2: Decrease in critical thinking skills. Research from the Journal of Educational Psychology shows that AI can provide automatic answers, which can prevent students from trying to analyze and think critically about a problem/task.

Argument 3: Decreased learning motivation, University of California research found that students who use AI tend to have lower learning motivation because they feel they don't need to understand the material in depth.

Argument 4: Privacy and data leaks, The New York Times report revealed that AI collects students' personal data which can be misused if the students lack understanding about data security.

•Re-Iteration:

Thus, although AI brings many benefits in education, over-reliance on this technology also has negative impacts that can reduce critical thinking skills, reduce learning motivation and endanger student privacy.

Members Of The Group:

Adinda Amelia Agustin (01)

Fatia Rahmania (09)

Ganiya Zafreen Khaynara (11)

Keisha Alifia Putri (15)

Mutiara Surya Salsabila (25)

Sheilla Melati Putri (33)

Social Function:

- To provide information and education to readers about the concept of fast fashion and its environmental impact.

- To encourage awareness and changes in consumer behavior.

Thesis:

- Fast fashion not only damages the environment through pollution and resource depletion but also exploits workers in developing countries, creating a serious threat to the planet's sustainability and human well-being.

Arguments:

Argument 1: High Carbon Emissions

•Example: The production process of clothing involves the use of fossil fuels in transportation and manufacturing.

•Phenomenon: The fashion industry contributes approximately 10% of total global carbon emissions, making it the second largest polluter after the oil industry.

•Evidence: According to a report from the UN Environment Programme, the textile industry produces 1.2 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. [5]

Argument 2: Mountainous Textile Waste

•Example: Every year, 92 million tons of textile waste are generated globally.

•Phenomenon: Only 12% of this waste is successfully recycled, with the rest ending up in landfills.

•Evidence: In Indonesia, approximately 2.3 million tons of clothing waste are produced annually, much of which becomes environmentally polluting waste. [4]

Argument 3: Worker Exploitation

•Example: Many workers in developing countries like Bangladesh and Cambodia work in very poor conditions with low wages.

•Phenomenon: Workers often work long hours without adequate protection.

•Evidence: Reports from human rights organizations indicate that workers in fast fashion factories often face health risks due to exposure to hazardous chemicals and unsafe working conditions.

Re-orientation:

- To reduce the negative impacts of fast fashion, it is important for consumers to be wise in choosing clothes, support sustainable brands, reduce excessive consumption, and recycle old clothes. These steps will help create a better world for future generations and maintain environmental balance as well as human rights.

group 2

• vianda okti amelia (37)

• uswatun khasanah (36)

• bella ferlina indriani (5)

• rizma ziadzatul hikmah (30)

• naila audrey nur eprilyani (26)

• diva alya novianti(6)

Title: Strategies for Climate Change Mitigation

• Social Function:

This article aims to inform and emphasize the importance of climate change mitigation strategies, encouraging communities, governments, and industries to take proactive actions to reduce climate impacts, ultimately safeguarding the environment and enhancing sustainability for future generations.

• Thesis:

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, largely driven by human activities that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Mitigation strategies focus on reducing these emissions, conserving energy, and preserving natural carbon sinks, such as forests and oceans. Key approaches include transitioning to renewable energy sources, enhancing energy efficiency, protecting and restoring ecosystems, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. By implementing these strategies, society can curb the effects of climate change, reducing global warming and stabilizing weather patterns.

• Arguments:

One primary strategy is transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydropower. This shift significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing dependency on coal, oil, and natural gas. Additionally, improving energy efficiency in industries, buildings, and transportation can further reduce energy demand and emissions, benefiting both the environment and the economy through cost savings. Moreover, protecting and restoring ecosystems, such as forests and wetlands, is crucial as these areas act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide and regulating the climate. Sustainable agriculture, which reduces deforestation and incorporates practices like crop rotation and organic farming, also plays a significant role in minimizing emissions and maintaining soil health.

• Re-orientation:

In conclusion, climate change mitigation is essential for ensuring a balanced and healthy environment. Each of us has a role to play, from individual lifestyle changes to larger-scale policies and corporate practices. Together, by embracing these strategies, we can make meaningful progress toward a sustainable future, minimizing harm to the planet and protecting resources for future generations.

• Member Groups

Abidah El Kamaliyah/01

Faiqur syafi' Dawam Wafauddin Yanim/08

Hilda Desvinta Anggraeni/13

Jihan Durratul Hikmah/14

Muhammad Adhitya bagus Prayitno/24

Naila Maulidya Al Aziz/27

Title : The Impact Of Media Social On Mental Healt

Thesis

Social media has become an integral part of daily life, shaping how people communicate, share information, and interact with others. While it offers numerous benefits, including fostering connectivity and providing a platform for self-expression, it also has significant impacts on mental health, both positive and negative. In this essay, I will argue that social media has a largely detrimental effect on mental health, contributing to anxiety, depression, and feelings of isolation among users.

Arguments

One of the most notable impacts of social media on mental health is the rise in anxiety levels. Studies show that excessive use of social media platforms can increase stress and anxiety, particularly among teenagers and young adults. The constant need to check notifications, compare oneself to others, and fear of missing out (FOMO) can lead to heightened feelings of insecurity. Users may feel pressured to present a perfect version of themselves, which is often unrealistic, thus contributing to anxiety and self-doubt. The curated content displayed on social media fosters a competitive environment where individuals feel compelled to live up to certain standards, leading to constant worry about their own adequacy.

Depression is another serious mental health issue linked to social media use. Research has indicated a correlation between increased time spent on social media and a higher likelihood of experiencing depressive symptoms. Social comparison, exposure to negative news, and cyberbullying are major factors that contribute to these feelings. Users often compare their lives to the idealized versions portrayed on social media, leading to feelings of inadequacy, loneliness, and sadness. This constant exposure to idealized lifestyles can worsen one’s mental state, especially when individuals feel that they are failing to measure up. Negative interactions, such as receiving harsh comments or experiencing online harassment, can also amplify depressive symptoms and further degrade users' self-esteem and outlook on life.

While social media is designed to connect people, it can ironically contribute to feelings of isolation. As people become more immersed in their online personas, they may withdraw from face-to-face interactions. Online relationships, although numerous, are often less fulfilling than in-person connections, leading to loneliness and a lack of genuine emotional support. Social media can create a false sense of social interaction, which may leave individuals feeling disconnected and isolated in the real world. By prioritizing digital relationships over personal interactions, users may find themselves surrounded by a virtual network yet emotionally distant from real human connections, reinforcing their sense of isolation and loneliness.

Some may argue that social media has a positive influence on mental health, providing a sense of community and support. For instance, online groups and forums can offer emotional support for individuals dealing with specific mental health issues. Social media also allows people to stay connected with loved ones, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation. Additionally, platforms can be a source of inspiration and motivation, promoting mental well-being through positive messages and mental health awareness campaigns. These communities foster a supportive environment, providing encouragement and understanding, which can significantly uplift individuals who may otherwise feel alone in their struggles.

Reiteration

Despite the potential benefits, the overall impact of social media on mental health is predominantly negative. The anxiety, depression, and isolation experienced by many social media users suggest that these platforms contribute more harm than good to mental well-being. It is important for individuals to be mindful of their social media usage and for society to promote healthier online behaviors. While social media can be a powerful tool for connection, it is essential to understand and address its negative effects on mental health.

Member of gruoup :

• Balqist Naura (04)

• Lina Nadhirah Marzela (16)

• Lola Anggraeni (18)

• Rahmadhonna Nila Nirwana (29)

• Sandrina Yunita Eka Putri (32)

• Sindy Aisyah Azzahra (34)

• Syalsa Nurjunita Sari (35)
