The first chapter of this semester is doing the internship. This is my first day in MYCS and having my first meeting. There is a lot of thing that have been go through nd I will get training for first two weeks.

My first task are go through the history and company background to make sure we all know about the company and the full name of our boss. It can gain our confidence if the client or candidate ask about the company. Then to make the working progress going smooth, I have our own partner to doing a task that have been assigned. The partners are already have a skill an knowledge. So, they can help me to make sure the task in on track.

For today, i have learn many attitude that can make some one can be somebody..the first impression can be judgment by others. this is because while in the meeting the leader explain that the first impression from the interview can be judgement and know the actual attitude of the person.

The surrounding of the workplace is so great and the boss is really supportive. It makes me feel comfortable and easy to learn the task.

I learn how to make a phone interview and learn how to ask the questions. It based 5W1H and IUUUD concept. 5W1H is when, where, what, who, why, how. While, IUUUD concept is Introduction, Understand the candidate, understand the preferences, understand the client and Decision making. Using both of these concepts, I learn how we can relate one question to another question and it will lead to the specific answer that we want. The IUUUD concept is really efficient to use because I can know the flow and the question that I need to ask and the answer that I want from the candidate.

While doing the script my boss will lead me and review the script either the question is proper to ask or not. So I can learn if there any mistake or I need to improve.

Prescreening

While I do the prescreening both of the candidate is busy and I need to play my role to make sure that I can talk to the candidate while his free/ convenience time. At 6 pm I already call the first candidate and explain to him the reason I call him. While do this prescreening, I need gather as much as i can about their information. So, I can know about the candidate very well.

Things that i need to improve for today.
- I need to know how to control the situation.
-I need to learn how to build up my confident level.

- Today I need to prepare the question to ask in interview session for my candidate. So I must know the structure of the question. Observe during interview session
- Observe how the candidate reacts to the questions that have been asking. Observe the body gesture, the tone sound and making a first impression about the candidate. All of these criteria will lead to the judgment about the candidate. We can know either the candidate interested or not. So I need to know about their company and competitors before I make a searching for this position.

Follow up with the Candidate
- This is an important stage, after doing the phone call, need to gather the other info from the Candidate if the info during the phone call session is not enough. This is because if the information that we have did not enough we cannot know the whole preferences of the candidate.

Searching candidate for financial manager
- this is quite challenging for me because we need to find the most suitable candidate that have assigned by 3 different company.
This level is really hard the deal because is need the person who have experience in manager and accounts position. I have found some candidate but not suitable so I need to review my search again.

Applied 5W1H and IUUUD concept
- I have a training session with all my colleagues and discuss about the concept.. 5W1H is when,what,why,who,where and hoe while IUUUD concept is introduction, understand the Candidate, understand the preferences, understand the client and decision. In this stage I need to follow to get information and make a judgement about the Candidate is suitable or not to this position

In this section, I need to implement the IUUUD concept which is in the third U.. I give the candidate details about my client, the job description and the benefit of the candidate join my client company. In this presentation, it will have 2 section which is presentation and Q&A session. In section 1,I need to present in 10 minutes and after that is the section 2 which is Q&A section for 3-5 minutes..In Q&A session my boss will pretend like a candidate and ask the questions. So, in this part the big challenge is I need to know how to handle the candidate questions. This is because if I can't handle the situation the candidate will lead me and I will lost.

In the Section 1, I pass the assessment but for the Section 2 I fail because I cannot handle and catch the opportunity to attract the candidate to discuss with me further. So, I need to do the assessment again Monday next week.

For the candidate, I already have the review from my boss. I have 2 selected candidates which is 1 candidate for the Project Engineer position and 1 candidate for Service Sales Engineer position. I need to retrieve the resume, update the Pre-screen list for the position and doing the prescreening.

For the retrieve it is the resume that have no specific and complete info which mean the info is just in the job street resume. For the retrieve resume it is the resume that already have all the info including name of the candidate. Retrieve resume have two which is resume from job street and the upload resume from candidate itself. After that I retrieve my candidate to doing the prescreening and update it in the prescreen list in the server.

Then, after lunch me and my partner prepared to doing the role play and prepared the script. This is because we need to be prepared about the information that we need to gather and give. This process will evaluate how much we use the IUUUD concept.

After that we start do the prescreening and after gathering the information my candidate is not keen with the Project Engineer position. So, I update the reason and all the info that I have get from this candidate in the prescreen list. Then, for the Service Sales Engineer position, the candidate not convenient to talk so he ask me to call back tomorrow.

This prescreening process teach me how to handle people and their question. I need to pursue them about my client and attract them to join this company.

To sum up all the thing that I have done this week, total candidate that i have been searching is 20 candidates, while selected by my partner is 8 candidates only, and selected by my supervisor is 4 only. For the Pre- Screening just have 1 pre-screening.

So, I need to improve my analytical, think and observe either the candidate is suitable or not before select it.

My partner selected 6 from my search which is 2 MOD Sales Engineer, 2 Project Engineer, 1 New Equipment Sales Engineer and 1 Project Supervisor and for finalize my superior selected 5 candidates from my search which is 2 MOD Sales Engineer, 2 Project Engineer and 1 New Equipment Sales Engineer.

I'm really want to closed Project Engineer position since I have candidate that already pass the interview at my office before.

Today, we have training session for Myers - Briggs Type indicator this help us to see what is our personality. This question divide by 4 which is Extraversion vs Introversion , sensing vs Intuition, Feeling vs Thinking and Judging vs Percerving.

The benefits that I get today is I can see what is my strength and weakness and the blindspots of me. I get the Caregiver score even though is not absolutely correct but it helps me to get see what can I improve myself in future.

This is because I find out sometime I can't see what my partner see from the candidates that we search. I usually follow the requirements strictly but it can be loose from time to time.

For today, I search 4 candidates which is 3 Project Engineer and 1 Project Supervisor. My partner selected 2 Project Engineer and 1 Project Supervisor and My Superior selected the same. So, I can see that today I get the quality candidates instead of quantity but I still need to achieve number and quality in searching too.

Today, also have training session for Big Five Inventory. This training will test about the Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness and Neuroticism.

Today have training for Type A&B Test and Holland Codes. This training is about to test the personality type A, B or C. Type A is about have someone who is planning type, Type B is free person and C is combination A and B which is detail person but easy to get pressure due to always keep the feeling by him/herself.

For today, I learn how the personality type can influence our thinking. I am type c person. So from this training I know that the strength of me is detail oriented but I need to not keep my feeling inside. I need to be open to voice out my opinion and my feeling.

I need to know the important things and handle the candidate very well. This is because today I failed to convince my candidate to go for interview with client and not giving suggestion to the superior when in critical time.

This is because in this situation I need to have back up candidate and knowing how to make judgment and decided the right decision.

Today I also have 1 Pre-screening for Project Supervisor to replace my candidate. Unfortunately I found that this candidate have lack of confidence and not have 1 major criteria that client want.

In future, I need to improve in judgement, do the first important thing, and make right decision. I also need to improve myself in convince people and giving suggestion in the critical time.
