All of the activities focus on moving your body and having visual learning experiences.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello! My UbD is all about engaging and teaching weather to 3rd graders. We start off brainstorming what we know about weather. Students will learn about weather patterns, air masses and fronts, extreme weather, weather instruments, forecasting, and so much more! I created hands on activities that will get students engaged, but also make them interested in each topic we talk about. For my final project, I had students create their own Public Service Announcement on the extreme weather we can find in New Hampshire. Along with that, they have created emergency kits and will demonstrate how to use them in the PSA. All emergency kits will be donated to the local community. I hope this unit can be helpful! We learn about growing peace by taking a yoga class from a certified instructor and then coming back to work on our own yoga flows we will present on exhibition night. We also have a gardener come into our class to talk about the importance of growing your own food and how it can bring peace into our lives. We build a garden outside, plant our seeds and maintain the garden, harvest our veggies, and then donate them to the local food bank!
