Hello! My UBD is about teaching K-2 graders all about severe weather. It is full of fun active activities such as creating a tornado in a jar, visiting with WMUR meteorologists and the Mount Washington Observatory and a fun hurricane in a bowl model. All of the activities focus on moving your body and having visual learning experiences. As their performance task they will work on either creating a weather forecast or taking about global warming activism.

My UBD was for 4th grade. It taught students about the water cycle while also going into the environment. We visited a beach where we did a cleanup, tested water, and learned about plastic waste. We decided to have a fundraiser to raise money for a water bottle bubbler. We wanted to awareness on the amount of plastic waste in the school and help to reduce it.

We build a garden outside, plant our seeds and maintain the garden, harvest our veggies, and then donate them to the local food bank! We end the unit by talking about how we could help ourselves when we are in stressful situations or just not feeling the peace we want to.
