Conflict and Resolution: The conflict in "The Journey" by Mary Oliver is the fact that people around the protagonist are trying to live through them by telling them bad advice. Therefore, the speaker doesn't know themself.

Tone: The tone of this poem is mysterious and scary. The author uses words like cried, shouting, bad advice, tremble, and melancholy

Symbols: The author uses symbolism and chooses to represent a wild night and fallen branches and stones as the bad advice she receives from people living through her.

Imagery: The author uses imagery to describe a stormy night. The author says "...and a wild night, and the road full of fallen branches and stones." (Oliver 20-22). The quote shows that the author is describing a scene for the reader to visualize.

Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost

This poem is similar to the others because each of the speakers or protagonists is going through a journey and each has at least one stanza. This poem is different from the other poems because it's the only poem in which the protagonist is referencing a physical journey.

Conflict and Resolution: The misadventure in this story is that the protagonist wants to stay and admire the woods but also is responsible for fulfilling a promise to someone from home. The tribulation is resolved when the protagonist realizes the "promises to keep, and miles to go before I(the speaker) sleep" (Frost 14-15). The quote shows the thought process of the speaker and their intentions to fulfill the promise and continue through the woods and to their destination.

Tone: The author has a mysterious but mostly emotionless tone. I say this because the author does not talk much about their feelings or anything and it's very easy to understand.

Structure: The author structured the story into 4 stanzas, 2 lines in each stanza, and 8 lines total. The structure shows me the separate thoughts of the author.

The story is similar to the others because they're all about the protagonist journey to being good people. It's different because it talks about the very beginning and end of this journey through life unlike the other poems.

The author's purpose is to inform the reader that nothing really matters. We live, try new experiences, meet and bond with people, and die.

The tone is direct but also positive. The author uses words like gleam, simplicity, tune, and shrine to describe certain things and events which makes me think that the tone is sort of calm.

The author uses symbolism by describing life as a journey.

The author uses figuartive language by writing "The traveler has to knock at every alien door to come to his own" which actually means meeting people.
