module 4 has been my favorite because i love argumentative writing it allows you to express opinion freely. Also its just more fun and more intriguing. this module taught me how to formulate an argumentative essay , and how to use complex sentences in your actual news story.

My other favorite part is being able to your claim and research the topic at hand. Module 4 also taught me how to use my claim and formulate my counter claim. The editorial notebook had really useful tips and activities. such as the assignment when you have to write about the 5 w's. module 4 was the most useful in my opinion

In my opinion, module four, was the hardest module of all but at the same time was the module where I learn more. The other modules teach me very important things too, but with this one I learned more things and even though it was hard, I really like it.

Claim, Counterclam and Rebuttal was very difficult, at the begining I did not understand anything, the work that we had to do, for me, was so hard that I had to read more than two times what it is Claim, Counterclaim and Rebuttal, but hinestly all of these things were and are really helpful. Something that I really like was the Ethos, Pathos and Logic, I think it was the easiest concepts that I could learn and I didn't know we actually use them everyday.

So, this is the last module, it was the hardest but it was very interesting. Just like all the other modules, this one teach me a lot of things that I didn't know about journalism until now. This class was really helpful and I really enjoy it. All those things about journalism that I learned were amazing. I wish there is other module where I can learn more about this interesting profession.

Module 4, was one of the most difficult modules but it was also one of the best module when it comes to learning. This module thought a lot about how to state and let the other know about your argument. Not just that, it also let you know how to respond to the argument as well. Since I enjoy stating my arguments and proving people wrong I've enjoyed doing this module a lot.

I can say module 4 was probably the most entertaining one for me but like I've said it was also the hardest. Some lessons took time to understand but once you've understand it then it would be easy and quick to go through. I like lessons that i understand and i enjoy because it makes it enjoyable. This last module had showed me more about journalism than any other because i know now that journalism had a lot of pros and cons. The other module only showed me the pros,

You do this by stating the claim and explaining it then the counterclaim and explaining it then the rebuttal in the argument. This was very useful and opened my eyes because before I would be bias and just get mad instead of giving information to back up what I was stating.

This module was the hardest of them all in my opinion but the best as well. The lessons were not as easy as before. It took time to find everything and put it together.

Module 4 was very slacked back module. Everything was more of common sense, with the help of the past modules. Something new that was taught in this module was the, counterclaim arguments. Claim, Counterclaim and rebuttal. Then Actually finding an argument to write about was the best part because we can actually take time and find for evidence. Journalism class taught me how to express myself in writing. As much as how to write in different styles.

MODULE 4 was a very difficult and challenging module, at times it would test my patience but it proved to be a great module. It came off another difficult module in three and it came back into the writing circuit of things. Module taught me how to properly right with emotion whether it'd be persuasive, argumentative or subjective. The lessons were very informative and educational. Writing essays, especially with emotion can be difficult at times and I am glad it helped me a lot.

Personally, I think this module can help lots of students who have trouble writing. The claim, counterclaim and rebuttal was by far the most difficult part of the module. But, my favorite part was learning about ethos pathos and logos. Usually in English class I always pay attention closely when my teachers talk about it. Module 4 was definitely my favorite one out of all of them.

Module 4 has taught me a whole lot about argumentative writing and the foundations of argumentative writing strong and have ground. I have learned about the important of collecting evidence from credible sources and the ability to create a counterclaim and a rebuttal. I learned that an argument must have very strong facts & support to make an argument strong and legitimate. I have learned that their are many types of writing pieces in journalism such as editorials, sports columns, and art columns. They all have the same foundation such as the 5 W's and one H, which is the basis that all journalists have to follow in every editorial or piece that they write. I have learned that professional journalists much be objective and have to look at the cold hard facts that are presented to them, and have to address these facts in a professional manner.

In this module, I have learned how to strengthen my argument and take the time to research and read through countless amounts of information to create a strong foundation for any argument. People have considerations from both sides of the argument and must have a strong rebuttal to strengthen their argument. In the end, people should listen to people's point of view and consider the facts that are presented to them.

In my opinion, module 4 was the best out of the four modules because argumentative writing is my favorite type of writing. I was able to learn more about collecting evidence from believable sources because they are a lot of false sources out there. I was able to learn the way a sports journalist suppose to write their piece. My ability to claim, counterclaim and rebuttal has improved a lot thanks to this module. A sports journalist has to provide editorial content while covering athletic events to help audiences make sense of the games that is taking place. I also learned that when you are revising your counterclaim you have to make that you have been fair to your audience by sharing counterclaims that honestly show what the opposite side of your topic believes. The module also taught me more about the definitions of ethos, pathos and logos. After during all four of the modules i learned that being a journalist is not so easy as it sounded before.

Module 4 has taught me more about the emotional and argumentative prospects of writing. When you are writing a story you must have ethos, pathos, and logos. You need to have the facts to back you up and have the emotions to bring people in without being biased. I realized that journalists don't have a very easy job. They must collect a lot of information before sitting down and writing a piece. They have a really hard job and I applaud them for they're hard work.
This module taught me about claim, counterclaim, and rebuttals. Using these tools can help enhance your writing or what you are trying to prove. Knowing the other side to what you believe in helps you you know more about your topic. This module has improved my skills on how to collect evidence. It is very important to have the right information to back up your writing. I really enjoyed this module because it dealt with tools that I have been introduced to before. It dealt with all the components you would need for a debate or to write an essay which really helps me for school. I really love argumentative writing. It has a much more fun aspect to it.

Module 4 further explained how to write an argument. It explained about the three appeals that an argument can have towards the audience: ethos, pathos, and logos. It also explained how each appeal has a different effect in your claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal. Evidence is the key to each of them. Collecting evidence can be very tedious but it is essential because if not you do not have a valid argument.
One of the most important things that this module taught me was that your sources must be credible. That not everything online is necessarily reliable. In an argument, one must see and understand the opponent's point of view (counterclaim). It makes a much stronger and effective argument .

Through Module 4 I have learned a large portion of things related with my argumentative writing. Starting off with being able to identify the different appeals in an argument; Pathos, Ethos, Logos and different connotations. Also how create a claim, counterclaim, and a rebuttal for an argument. During an argumentative writing, you must address both sides of the argument and state your claim and know how to support it. I was taught how to differentiate between logos, pathos, and ethos. Identifying a claim, counter claim, and rebuttal in an argument is a big thing while evaluating a speech. I developed good speaking and listening skills.

Being able to identify credible sources is a big thing in arguments, I was taught how to do that. I am now able to find evidence to support the argument in my editorial writing. Also how all journalists cannot go a day without the 5Ws and one H: What, where, when, why, who, and how. They are used in everything, even something as minor as an opinion. And lastly and most importantly, I was taught how to write my own argumentative writing and make it legit and eligible just like a real journalist; along with revising it to improve it.

They did make you stop and think it took a lot time to do those. I learned how to structure a good argument and how to actually use sources to find information. Not just based on what you know but to show prof.
For the most part, I found this specific section useful. It worked on my grammar and my organizational skills. Also how to develop a good argument with enough information to fill in. I learned about the claim, the counter argument and the rebuttal .And of course how to use them.

Ethos, Pathos and Logos are the appeals , ethos is an appeal to ethics, pathos is related to emotion and logos is an appeal to logic. I have also learned what a claim, counterclaim and rebuttal are and how they are used in writing. Plus in writing you must back up your information with what one is writing about so it would make more sense to the reader. Journalism in fact is not a difficult job.

All in all getting information is very essential in debating because without it your argument may be invalid.

Within Module 4, I felt that I was just relearning previous topics I studied prior to taking this course. This module focused on argumentative writing and appealing towards your readers. The module began by teaching the differences and the uses of a claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal. The only part I felt I had some trouble with was being able to establish my claim without seeming to merge with the counterclaim. This module also taught the three appeals pathos, ethos, and logos. Pathos is the appeal to the reader's emotions, ethos to the reader's morals, and logos to the reader's logic.
Although, I have already learned most of the topics in this module I still found it refreshing to go over them. This module helped me to perfect my argumentative skills and writing. I was also able to better evaluate a speaker, whereas before I struggled to do so. I feel that this module was very beneficial towards more overall understanding in arguing and being able to appeal to others

I was able to see that I have really come a long way since the beginning of the year when i wrote my first one. I was able to apply so much of the things that i had learned in the previous modules specially in the planning period. Thankfully I did not struggle with the sources, that was actually one of the easiest parts of the process.
Before writing my story I took some time to prepare and organize my story to be able to preform at my best and showcase my skills to the best of my abilities. In this editorial argument I had to include a rebuttal which lead to me being able to see both sides of the story and not just my own. Which could've easily made me seen bias. In conclusion, I really enjoyed this Module and I have taken so much to help my writing moving forward.

It first showed me Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. I already knew about this, but it was interesting to see how articles use these techniques in ways most readers wouldn't notice. The argument writing was an interesting topic to do some research on, it was one i looking foward to. since they are the most controversial. But i was disappointed. It wasn't what i expected, but i really liked the rebuttal assignment, it was interesting to see two sides of an argument. Overall the module was an interesting one which focused on a major aspect of journalism.

I learned to how to identify a claim and write one, along with a counterclaim and rebuttal to an argument. You have to acknowledge the other person’s argument, and then rebuttal with evidence and support. If this is not done, you are not making a valid argument and you wont get your point across. I now know how to correctly use the appeals when arguing so that I am successful in what I am trying to say. One has to conduct a lot of research because not all the information online is factual. Answering the 5 W’s and the H will complete your paper.

I also learned more about counterclaim and rebuttal, it was without a doubt very interesting. I learned on how to improve my skills when writing an argumentative essay, and how exactly you should use counterclaim. When writing an argumentative essay you have to make sure to have facts meaning you have to collect evidence. Every source that you use has to be credible.
Module 4 was definitely a refreshing module just because I learned most of these topics in the past.

Being able to find credible sources is essential thing in arguments, I was taught how to do that.

Module 4 was by far the most complex but the one that taught me the most . Some lessons took time to understand but once you've understand it then it would be easy and quick to go through. I was able to learn more about collecting evidence from believable sources because they are a lot of false sources out there. I learned how to write in an argumentative way and not be bias towards a certain side. You do this by stating the claim and explaining it then the counterclaim and explaining it then the rebuttal in the argument. . I was also taught how to differentiate between logos, pathos, and ethos. Identifying a claim, counter claim, and rebuttal in an argument is a big thing while evaluating a speech. In my opinion this module was the most hands on one where you had to do research and make sure the information wasn't false.

In this module, I was able to collect, do research and review all information given to me to voice my opinion and the opinion of others. How there is also another side to the story and how evidence is key and essential to all parts of a story. This module athough the toughest out of all of them, taught me that not all sources are credibe and how it is necessary to thoroughly confirm all sources before writing any assignment or paper if one should write any paper.

During Module 4 I learned the importance and how specific argumentative writing is, the methods of persuasion, learned how to identify appeals: ethos, pathos, and logos. I learned how important a claim, counterclaim and rebuttal is in an argument and how to create them. Also how to differentiate the positive, negative, and neutral connotations. I know how to find credible sources and revise things on my own properly. I can find correct credible sources to support my argument. What I found most useful and helpful from this module was when I was taught how to create a claim, counterclaim, and a rebuttal. I have no questions left for this module.

Module 4 showed me not only the different styles of writing but more in depth of claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal. In school we learn the basics but with more practice, I've actually learned how to use it in essays or daily conversations. This module improved my writing skills and my argumentative skills. I've never been good at persuading people and learning about it is very useful for papers in my education. To have an argument, you must know what you're talking about and back it up.

This module showed me more about collecting evidence and using it for your argument. Having evidence makes your argument more factual. People will truly believe you and side with you when you back up your statements. It's even better when you use pathos, ethos, and logos. Appealing to people's emotions is a great way to attract people. This module really helped me and I enjoyed this one most of all.

Evidence is the key to each of them. Collecting evidence can be very tedious but it is essential because if not you do not have a valid argument. This module taught me a lot.

Module 4 focused on how to write an effective argument and key factors in order to appeal your readers. It starts off by teaching the definition of claim, counterclaim, and rebuttal to an argument and the uses of it. In addition, module 4 has taught three key factors for writing effective argument; pathos, logos, and ethos. Pathos appeal to a person’s emotions and when a writer uses pathos, he/she get them to believe their side of an argument. Logos appeal to logic or to reason and by using logos, the writer can appeal to the audience by providing logical explanation to the argument. Ethos appeal to ethics and using ethos can help the writer can appeal to his or her audience on an ethical level, showing an understanding about what the community values. Additionally, this module has taught to me to acknowledge the other’s person argument and to rebuttal through evidence and support in order to backup your claim. Without evidence and support, your argument is invalid and biased. To collect evidence, one must find credible sources and to make sure that’s up to date with accurate information since not everything on the internet is reliable. Module 4 has helped me to have an overall understanding on effective argument and how to write one.

Within this particular module, it highlighted an opinionated form of writing and how to successfully persuade audiences by using appeals. By showing how to identify these appeals, it helped provide insight into it applicatory use. I personally find useful as these techniques aren't only good for writing but essential in communication. The section also provided perspective into how one should structure an argumentative editorial, of which I found to be the most interesting aspect of this module. Learning how others can be swayed onto one's own position through these tactics is something I believe no good writer can go without.

This module also revealed how to locate and utilize credible sources in order to give one's opinion on a particular matter enough credibility to persuade another to your own side. Seeing the differing sentence techniques was a curiosity for me, as since it came by habit, I hadn't really thought of how different forms of writing used had a unique underlying meaning to each of them. I found the revision area to have been similar in concept to the last module, however i suppose the introduction of self-editing and then revising could have been a good part of the module had the idea not sunken in during the last. Overall, I believe this module to be useful for future writing and attempts at persuasion for both future journalists and other individuals alike.

Ethos appeals to ethics, logos appeals to logic and reason, and Pathos appeals to emotions. I learned how to persuade people through writing and that those skills can also be used while just having normal conversations. This module focused on assignments that you had to actually stop and think about the answer before typing anything.
This module taught me how to cite sources in my article because if i didn't I could be accused of plagiarism. It also taught me to have several sources because not all sources are valid. It is good to look for sources that are well known because that also helps you win people over. I learned that it is also important to listen to your opponents counterclaim because it will help you make a good rebuttal and win the argument.
