1. What are some benefits of flipping classrooms? Flipped class has lots of benefit. For the last several years, some advantage of this innovative class have been largely covered by many media that I have tried the method for my actual classes. At first, by presenting materials before the main class through online, teachers can make their learners preview what they are going to learn. As the learners preview the main class, both teachers and learners can save time, which gives them great efficiency in timing and explaining the main class. Learners may be highly motivated for the class as they already know what they are going to learn and have brief outline about them. Lastly, teachers could not check the learners understanding for feedback in homework from traditional class as the learners should do the work by themselves at home while, in flipped class, learners have a lot more references from the teacher and other peers for problem solving in the classroom.

2. What are some drawbacks of the flipped classroom? How might they be overcome?

I have applied lots of materials for my class such as commercially made movie clips, photos, text etc. Among them, my students like the movie clips I made for the class starring my real students. Bt it requires so much time and energy for the teacher to come up with idea and make up the movie clips by themselves. Even more, despite the teachers' effort, the very movie clips that attracted the learners attention at the beginning might lose their fresh attraction over time and the learners could get bored easily. Teachers should train themselves handling technology for making up movie clips fast and effectively. Furthermore, as there are always some students who don't finish their homework at time, teachers may have some learners who miss the required assignment of previewing the class online. Teachers should set rules to motivate and encourage them to work actively.

3. What are some challenges you might face with creating a flipped classroom lesson?

Design online contents for previewing the main class is a great challenge for the language teachers not skillful for dealing with computer technology. Not surprisingly, the quality and credibility of the clips the teachers make can never be as good as those made by professional movie makers or programmers. And as this method is still new and unfamiliar to teachers and learners, it make take some more time settling in our actual school settings in Korea. Evaluating and incooperating into regular curriculum are another difficult problems to solve. And it may be a great burden for the learners to have all the subjects other than language through flipped class.

4. What are some benefits to blended learning? This course is a blended learning experience. What do you want to explore further during our week of face-to-face sessions?Teachers and learners are not limited by time and space. They can teach and learn any time, and anywhere. They can communicate off line as well as online and they can be more cooperative through these two eay communication. Learners can set their studying pace according to their achievement, which makes individualized class possible. I want to share various experiences that other teachers have in their actual classes. I want to listen how others solve the problems I have. I hope to have more insights and good materials for flipped class and blended learning for my actual language classes for children.
