Join Harley's Hope for a dessert tea buffet and silent auction on Sunday, December 6th at the Black Forest Community Center.

Attendees will enjoy a wide variety of desserts, teas, silent auction items to bid on, and mystery door prizes.

Last year we hosted a literary tea and auction and attendees were invited to dress up as a character from their

favorite book and compete for awards. This year it is a winter holidays theme featuring an Ugly Sweater Competition.

I have cups and saucers for up to 100, plus 75 teapots to choose from. Volunteer bakers provide the desserts, and everyone involved solicits silent auction items and, if possible, sponsors. We cleared $3,500 doing this by ourselves last year with about 35 attendees.

Once in a Lifetime Warbird Event

Join us at the National Museum of World War II Aviation this Thursday, Aug. 20, to see the world's only operational SB2C Helldivers fly together for the first time. It's going to be an EARLY day: the planes will take off around 5:45 a.m. so they can take photos and videos at sunrise.

The museum will open at 5:30 a.m., and regular admission prices will get you in the door. Purchase tickets online in advance to save a few dollars per ticket.

Nonprofits Needed for "I Can Be a Philanthropist" Program

Pikes Peak Library District Foundation will be hosting their 2^nd annual “I Can Be a Philanthropist” family program on Oct. 17 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Our goal is to teach children (8+) and families about giving and how to be a part of their community. This is a visibility event for Give! Nonprofits and an opportunity to share about upcoming events you may be hosting.

The event starts at 10:30 with a Storytime about what it means to be a philanthropist and ways to be kind to others and then it becomes a tabling event at 11:00 AM.

Each participant will receive play money and is encouraged to walk up to the different nonprofit tables and ask questions about why the nonprofit is important? How do they help the community? And any other questions they may have. From there, they will choose a nonprofit of their choice to donate their money to.

We will also be giving out the Give Family Guide and letting people know about the upcoming campaign.
