These never ending marches are called "Death Marches ," These marches forced Jews to walk 450 miles. Since Germany lost the war this didn't stop the Nazis to continue with their everlasting torture for the Jews. The marches were the most humane thing because most of the time even if you survive the march you'll probably end up getting shot when you arrive at the destination. Anyone who fell from exhaustion would get left behind and get shot. Nazis made these innocent people walk in the bitter cold of winter and didn't give them any food, water or shelter.

Death marches were the large movement of the people in concentration camps to other camps during the end of the Holocaust. Death marches were called death marches because a lot of people died during the march. If a person fell behind or sat down, that person was killed on spot. The Jews that were forced to participate were given nothing to help them endure the winter cold, and when the marchers got to their destination, they had very little supplies. The death marches were inhumane because people like Irene, who is a Holocaust survivor, had to walk for a long while. Irene's march was 450 miles! Lots of people died from either exhaustion, the weather, or the solders. In all, the death marches were named for the very high probability of death, and the marches are inhumane because of the amount of death.

In the mid 1930's to the mid 1940's Jewish people were tutored until the "end." The "end" is either there is no more Jewish people left to kill, or the allies would come to the camps to liberate them. "Death Marches" were called this because you were most likely going to die on this march. The trip was 450 miles long, with no stopping. Irene says you could not fall from exhaustion or you were shot. There was not good weather conditions and very cold winters. Not many people survived during these horrific marches.

When Irene and the other Jews in her camp went on the "death march", it was nearly 450 miles, walking. Irene and the other Jews couldn't get tired or stop walking or else they would be shot. This is inhumane because nobody would want to walk or even drive 450 miles. The fact that the Nazi's would force them to walk that long of a distance is just terrible.

These marches were called "Death Marches" because they resulted in thousands of deaths. Prisoners had to run, walk, and march hundreds of miles, and if they stopped without permission, they would get shot. If someone stopped or slowed down because of exhaustion, they would immediately get shot or trampled. Many people also died from hunger, thirst, illness, and frostbite. It was extremely cold and the prisoners weren't given the proper clothes or shelter, and they were hardly given food or water. These marches were inhumane because the Nazis had no compassion for these prisoners, and treated them so cruelly during these marches. These marches were a way to torture the Jews and also a way to move away from the battlefront. The Nazis had no heart for these people; they just wanted to save themselves.

For example, if anyone stopped walking, or started to walk slower, they would be shot. The place that they were headed towards was most likely a concentration camp. This is inhumane because it is one group of humans mistreating and torturing other humans only because of their religion. Furthermore, this is not a human thing to do.

In the 1940´s, Jewish people were getting tortured by the Nazi. One way the Nazi would torture Jewish people was by going on Death marches. It was called a Death March because the Nazi would take the Jewish people and long walks to other concentration camps. Irene, for example, walked 725 km or 450 miles to a concentration camp when they got kicked out of Auschwitz. On the walk there was barely any food or water. Occasionally they would stop at small concentration camps that were full.

In the 1940s the Jewish prisoners would walk death marches since the allies where pushing the battlefront. These death marches where called death marches because the Jews would walk hundred miles father into Germany boarders. If a Jew ether fell from exhaustion or sat down they would´ve gotten shot. Day and night without any water, food, or shelter the Germans forced the Jews to keep walking. Irene and her sister walked a death march to a camp that was 450 miles away. Luckily when she got to the other camp there was no gas chambers, so they would be taken and out on a truck to go get shot and died. But the truck never came so she survived.
