Two of the most annoying issues with airports and the airlines themselves are, first, the fact that they cause noise pollution (as I once lived across the street from a train, so I'm familiar to the displeasure of it) and, second, the ability for the flights to spread diseases aboard the plane and at the airport. The first problem I will discuss is the one involving noise pollution. Now, this isn't always a bad thing, as houses that are built near airports can cost significantly less. However, if you were to buy the house, than soon learn that an airport was to be built extremely close to it, that would just stress you out. My solution for this problem is for cities to only allow airports to be built in areas farther away from residential areas and more in the downtown area. Most people don't live in the downtown of a city, therefore much less people will get bothered by the noise level, and even if there were still people living close to the airport, the noises would probably be drowned out by the classic sound of traffic and whatnot. Next, I will discuss the hazardous crisis of diseases spreading on planes and at the airport. I can imagine how much work has already been put into this issue, however, based on what I have experienced, it seems like airports could add a tad more security considering disease. After a return flight to Canada, I was only asked once through a machine about disease, and I believe that this is not nearly sufficient to stop disease. Keep in mind, I was asked after I had had the flight and was in the crowded airport. I propose that we have mandatory screening be done in the countries infected with the disease, therefore by the time the encounter with disease is discovered, it isn't already too late. Well, that concludes my solutions to the issues that concern me the most. I hope that these will prove useful in the future!

- Catherine
Air travel has created many benefits for travelling, although it also caused many impacts on the environment (some that may harm the Earth). For example, when the aircraft's wings get de-iced, the chemicals will then travel down the sides of the wings, and go into the our water supply. In my opinion, I think the government should provide more water filters in big bodies of water so that the chemicals will be eliminated after going through the filter, also, this will decrease the amount of animals dying/ habitats being destroyed. Another way that air travel is hazardous to us is that airports are often noisy, which will therefore lead to the communities near the airport to be in danger (the loud noises create a chance for the neighboring people to lose their hearing). to improve this issue, people nearby the airport should be provided with some type of ear plugs that they should wear outside. Furthermore, air travel actually creates a big amount of impacts on the environment, but we can do something to change that!

Millions of people everyday fly from place to place with airplanes. It has created many jobs for people, however, we barely stop to think about the harms it does to the environment and us. Residing homes close to airports may complain that the noise from the plane taking off may disturb what they are doing. To reduce this problem, I think they should provide earphones that will reduce the loud noise from the plane. De-icing planes is an important part of flying especially during the Winter. The de-icing liquid consists of many chemicals with are hazardous to lakes, streams and rivers. When de-icing the plane, the excess liquid flows toward lakes, streams and rivers underground. To prevent this from happening, I think that they should put some sort of filter in the lakes, streams and rivers so the chemicals don't destroy wildlife habitat underwater.

Air Travel has many advantages and many disadvantages. Air companies can easily transport supplies and people all around the globe and as well as provide many jobs, however the contrails of the airplanes pollute the air (and eventually adds up to global warming),and many habitats around the airport. A few changes that we could do to reduce airplane emissions are bio fuels, lighter engines, aerodynamic designs, and 3-D printing of aircraft parts. We could also improve our hygiene inside airplane's washrooms and airplanes in general. By at least washing your hands when going out of the airplane's washroom and using paper towels to hold the door handle helps, when you don't do those little things you can spread germs and diseases to the country you are flying to, and might even get a disease yourself.

Air travel has had a huge impact on people's lives and on industries. People can travel from place to place very easily and safely, supplies can be delivered to countries around the world, and medical help can be provided to an emergency situation in a short period of time. However, air travel has had a negative impact on our environment. Airplanes release a very large amount of carbon dioxide. In order to reduce these amounts that are released into the air and contributing to Global Warming, planes should be strongly and constantly checked. Planes should go through emission tests the same way that cars do. They should be checked very often to make sure that as they get older, they still work properly and efficiently. De-icing planes is a very big cause of water pollution. When planes are de-iced, the chemical that is used runs off the plane and straight into nearby lakes, rivers or streams. What if the airport created hangars where planes could be de-iced? Just before take-off, planes could be driven through these hangars and be de-iced. If all of the planes were de-iced in the same location, the chemicals could be trapped in underground containers and then be disposed of properly. The world cannot live without air travel, therefore we need to work together to come up with solutions to reduce the negative impact that it is having on our environment.

Air travel has caused travelling to be much easier for everyone. A airplane can transport a huge amount of people to many destinations. Also it is quicker than a car and it can reach places that cars can't. Plus it does much more than that it provides jobs for many people, it can delivery medical supplies quickly, and many more. But it also causes many negative impacts to our environment. Such as, global warming, water pollution, habitat destruction, and noise pollution. There may be some ways to resolve this. So noise pollution can lead to hearing lose. If you live near a airport you may hear many noises all day long. One way to prevent this is by wearing some type of air plug to block out this noise. Now lets move on, Habitat destruction can cause many wildlife animals to die and can also break down tree's, which lowers are oxygen supply. So one way to prevent this is by supporting and voting for the green party. That way when they are in charge they will help change this problem. Also you can even start a little organization with a group of friends and surely you will make a difference. So as you can see there are some ways to resolve this. So hopefully in the next few years air travel will not harm the enviroment as much. So if you want to change this you can.

Millions of people fly from place to place everyday by using air travel. Air travel is a very fast way of transportation in the air, and although it has a lot of pros, it also has a lot of cons. The first pro is that it allows you to travel very quickly to other places without traffic. The second pro is that the flight is very smooth going, without any bumps unlike cars. The third pro is that it provides other people with jobs. The last and final pro is that it can reach places a car cannot, such as other countries. Now for the cons. The first con is that it is very noisy for other people living near an airport, and can also cause annoyance and in some rare cases, hearing loss. My solution for this problem is to build an airport where it is vast and where an empty space can be filled. The second con is that the airport could very well receive negative feedback from people who are in an eco team or who support the environment. My solution to this problem is to try to make a type of small and less space consuming airport. The third con is that it can also provide habitat loss because of the location of where that very airpost was built. My solution to this problem is to also make an airport where the environment will not be effected. My fourth con is that it creates global warming because of the population of airports and airplanes, and how gas emissions(c02) pollute the air. My last and final solution is to only create and fly a small number if airplanes a day, and according to the number of passengers, a smaller or bigger airplane. These are only some of the pros and cons and solutions to make the world a safer place, not just for humans, but for animals too.

Air Travel is one of the most important methods we use to transport ourselves and goods in no time. Although this method is convenient and is used worldwide 24/7, Air Travel can have an impact on the environment, communities and even the users of this mode of transportation. Here are some examples how airplanes affect our world and some methods we can use to help improve this mode of transportation. One: The disturbing noise of airplane engines. Although buying a house close to airports cost less, the noise can echo through the town making the residents get well, annoyed. Also, studies have shown that airplane engines can have an increased risk for noise induced hearing loss. But how can we solve those problems? To solve that problem, we must add noise-reducing chevrons on the airplane's engines or replace the engine with a "hush kit" to reduce the noise pollution emitted. Now let us talk about the last problem: Global Warming. Although you might already know this, airplanes emit carbon dioxide or (CO2) emissions which contributes to Global Warming. The solution? Well, what we can do is build eco-friendly airplanes or low fuel airplanes. These all emit less emissions than other aircrafts. Another is to use airplanes that can hold huge amounts of passengers because if more aircrafts are in the air, more pollution will occur. Well, these are some tips that can help improve the uses of Air Travel. I hope these tips can be found somewhat in the future!

Air travel, one of the most useful transportation's/vehicles in the world, provides us the opportunity to travel far places in no time. However, air travel also harms the environment with the gas it spreads. As well, in the airport, many citizens from different countries may spread diseases/viruses throughout the building. This may lead to the whole world being affected with people going back to their countries. We can prevent this by scanning these travelers more carefully with security making sure they are fully protected. Furthermore, if they do have a disease and they are about to board their flight, stop them from getting on that plane. As well, airports such as Billy Bishop Airport, which is built in Downtown Toronto, may not attract citizens with the high degree of noise they create with plane’s landing and taking off. They can make sure that these citizens will not complain by moving to a different location such as Pearson International Airport where people will not be allowed to complain. In my opinion I believe that Porter airlines, the airline that is in Billy Bishop Airport should move to Pearson because of the amount of customers they attract. Furthermore, more jobs will be opened up for this airline as more and more citizens will be arriving to attend their flight.

Have you been on an airplane before? Chances are, you have, as over 1000 flights per day are taking place in Toronto's Person International Airport alone! However, not all of that is fantastic or even good. Some problems that you probably have not even thought about! For example, I'd wager that you haven't thought twice about the good citizens living around the airport, victims of noise pollution, and the water we drink being contaminated because we chose to deice planes with chemicals and those chemicals leaked into our pipes and our water supply. How can we change that? For air pollution, the fix is simple. Perhaps we could regulate the distance between a residence and where an airport is allowed to be built, ultimately changing where airplanes may fly as well the degree of noise pollution people must cope with. An even easier solution is to move the location of certain airports. To describe one change, maybe Porter Air could use Person International as their airport resulting in more choices for the customer, higher competition for the companies as well as less strain on your downtown commute and less noise in more places. This means the customer service will be better and airplane fares will decrease ( airlines will try to convince you to choose them using this tactic ). Last but not least, as a fix for the deicing, why not use warm water instead? One might argue that a) warm water costs more money and b) you might get water in the airplanes' machinery as a result, grounding the plane. Well, deicer also costs lots of money, likely more than water as it is a mix of chemicals and if we use water, even if it does leak into our water supply, no problem, it is water, after all. Finally, if water may get into the machinery, so can deicer. Did deicer ever get in to the engine? Water has the chance to ruin something, as well. However, if we use it as carefully as we do with deicer, there is no chance that a tragedy will happen.

how can we save money and time for air travel? I was thinking that perhaps we could use one plane for more than one use. For example, the planes we fly on for trips can be larger and have deticated area for cargo, and organs for the people in need. One plane can carry more than just passengers. For the animal lovers, a part of the plane could be reserved for pets and adding another section for transporting mail. As a result, we don't have to let off as much CO2. We can make a fusion of cargo plane, pleasure planes and health/organ planes all together in one. We can't absoulotely elimanate flight but we can enhance it to a safer and better way of transportation.

Did you know that the plane fully laden A380 uses as much energy as 3,500 family cars? Well, one consequence is that planes pollute the air which is bad for any animal living in the arctic. Another reason of why it is bad because it causes climate change which threatens any animals for their lives, because if this happens the animals habitats will melt and the animals will have no where to go/live. My solution/improvement is that when people are going in the same direction they should only use one plane because if they are close to the destination as the same people, they can land there too, which will not pollute the air as much. Secondly, when the plane is flying there is miscommunication, if this happens some planes can fly into each other which will make the planes crash. We can prevent this by making sure, that the people that control the plane of where it is going, is in safe hands at all time, you also have to be focused at all times while they are controlling the plane.

Yes, air travelling is fun, cool, fast, and handy, but we have not realized that it can be disruptive, harmful, and can cause/ create a lot of air pollution at the same time. Some consequences to air travelling is that it may be built near homes and it can destroy or harm animal habitats. The solutions to these problems is that the airports don't have to be built near homes. They can be built in a place very far away from homes so that people don't have to breath as much pollution and chemicals as much, even though they would have to travel in their car for a long time to reach the airport. The solution for animal habitats is that the airports do not have to be built very close to a place that has a lot of grass and trees because small animals could be living there and when the airport is built they have to move away because there would be a lot of noise when the airplanes are taking off, the animals could even die because of the air pollution and chemicals. The plane could even crash into homes because it does not have a very wide and open space to land.

Airplanes are fast and helpful but there is some problems with using one POLLUTION.Pollution has killed many animals and it also hurts the environment so when every airplane takes off it spreads pollution every where. This is a very big problem because with out animals we wouldn't have food and we can't get milk.To solve this problem they should build there aairports away from habitats and homes so they don't get effected. They should make a path to the airpost by bus or car so they don't have to walk that long way. Also we should not put airports close to an animal habitat.

Airplanes all around the world help and support many people around the world but it comes to a cost like global warming, Noise pollution, water pollution, and habitat destruction. probably the worst ones from horrible to to annoying are from habitat destruction , to global warming, to water pollution, and lastly noise pollution but today i would only talk about habitat destruction. Habitat destruction can affect our whole world because air is what give oxygen to breath but oxygen is created by trees so if habitats are being destroyed we will soon run out off oxygen and our and animal kind will soon be extinct so lets stand up to them and fight for whats right of our lives!

Millions and billions of people all around the globe use air travel. Air travel supports and helps people rive to their destination. Air travel also has many con like global warming and noise pollution. Global warming can lead to destruction of the arctic and polar bear and other animal habitats. Noise pollution will lead into complaining customers because, if an airport is built near a city then the neighbor hood will become noisy and the price of the house will decrease and the residents wouldn't be able to go to sleep if it is late at night
