I would not use it because Japan won't be able to hold out forever, they will eventually have to surrender. The atomic bomb is not the best option.

I'd probably narrow down my other options and probably wouldn't use it. I'd go for the more rational decisions first as Japan wouldn't be able to hold out forever.

Yes, I would use the weapon because the casualties have already reached high levels and will continue climbing if something isn't done.

I would not use the weapon and instead let Japan and the other participants in the war know about its creation of the weapon and ask them to end the war and would only drop it if Japan continued fighting afterwards then I would use the weapon.

Yes, because even though there would be many casualties, more casualties may occur anyway if the war continues. Therefore, ending the war as soon as possible is the most important thing.

I would not use the weapon because of the sheer torture and amount of human lives that could be lost--many that would be civilians. There are probably better options as well, so this wouldn't be my first.

I would decide to not use the Atomic Bomb as human lives are extremely valuable. There were plenty of alternatives, and the using the bomb does not have to be my final choice.

I would not use the weapon because Truman has expressed before that he wants to put all Americans first, however he still has compassion for mothers and children everywhere during the war. And it would not make the situation any better because there would be more chaos.

I would use the weapon because thousands of people have already died in this war, if it doesn't stop more and more people will loose their lives. Since this weapon could end the war in days, it would be wise to use it so nobody else could get hurt. The weapon might hurt people while using it, but its worth it if it ends the war.

Maybe not. If it costs a lot of human lives, that would be a lot of families devastated to hear that their grandfathers, dads, uncles, brother's or sons have died. That would just be very tragic for a lot of people... Not just families.

No personally, if I were President Truman in this scenario, I would not launch the bomb but instead would try and come into a peace treaty with Japan. Also there would a lot of human casualties.

I would use it because of how mnay people died at Pearl Harbor unprovoked. The random attack of Pearl Harbor was a shock, and it killed thousands. The dropping of the bomb would show that you can't do that without larger repercussions.

No, I would not use the weapon because its power has vast consequences, like an increased loss of human life as well as animal and plant life. It would also be devastating and very harmful for a long time.
