1. Reflection on what you've learned from your professional development.
I attended the for CSU Graduates session and really found it useful. At first I struggled to make a connection with the practical application of GLOs, but the more I listened to Bruce's discussion, I realised that the GLOs are really an extension of much that is already happening in our subjects.
2. How have/will you put your learning into practice?
I'd like to explicitly discuss the GLOs with my students from 1st through to final year. They're a good reminder of the bigger picture, beyond subject content.
3. What other professional development would you find helpful at CSU?
Personally, I would like to see more PD around lesson planning and engagement techniques.

1. I attended all sessions as part of the project team, and now have a greater understanding and appreciation all three (NORFOLK, Analytics & GLOs)
2. For me personally as I dont teach, the implementation will be different. I have been informed there is a administrative version of NORFOLK that I will test to see where I can streamline practices. Re Analytics, I can now advise academics of this function and direct them where and how to find out more. Re GLOs again to direct and embed into project and responsibility outcomes were applicable.
3. From a team level perspective I think there should be practical academic administrative function pd sessions e.g. (timely) training sessions and campfire discussions included on the calendar on Exams and or Exam Management System (how to submit your exam request / how to format your exam paper).

Just a little extra - thanks toeveryone who attended it was great listening to your feedback and comments throughout the sessions.

1. I attended the sessions on NORFOLK for Beginners, and Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs). The first was a more "hands-on" introduction to a tool to help automate essay marking, while the second involved a much more thought-provoking consideration of how to produce graduates, who are not only well-rounded professionally, but ethically, culturally and environmentally aware.
2. Should I be employed by CSU in the future - I can put Norfolk to use with essay marking, and discuss with colleagues how to further incorporate the GLOs into our courses.
3. It would have been nice to further explore NORFOLK's capabilities.

Thank-you to those providing the training. I especially enjoyed Bruce's presentation on GLOs.

1. LEARNT STUFF: I logged into the beginners session for NORFOLK and initially found the process very daunting. As a techno dinosaur I found it very fast paced during the 'this is how to set up marking rubrics etc' into the program introduction. However as the hour progressed I was really loving all the features that NORFOLK offers for quick and efficient marking / feedback .
2. DOING STUFF: I did not use NORFOLK for assessments at the end of this session (as they were online tests and oral presentations) but anticipate I will use it for reports and essays during my next session. The online NORFOLK 'help' notes are very user friendly, so as an infrequent user I will be referring to these too.
3. PD STUFF: As a casual techno dinosaur who only appears for the odd subject, I would appreciate refresher courses each year in CSU tools such as NORFOLK.

Thanks to the SES for the learning opportunity

(Sadly I am unable to replicate it in its Wiradjuri original form)

Question 2 I would hope to be able to put this aim in to place by contributing to the education of young(er) students

Question 3 I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in this programme. Being a teacher with a very casual appointment, it is nice to feel included. I guess any opportunity to continue to be included would be worth pursuing. Perhaps I need to become a bit more computer-savvy so that I can ensure active participation in future

David Oliver

This is an area that for me personally, usually is quite time consuming, and seeing that there are better ways to tackle this is reassuring, moving forward as an academic.

2. I have contacted some of the subject coordinators for subjects that I mark for to see if they can implement a NORFOLK friendly variant of future marking rubrics.

3. I sometimes have issues when marking for different subject coordinators. i.e. they like things in a particular way. I would like to see something that can assist us as markers in streamlining this process. Or ideas for ways we could bring this up with them. i.e. inclusion in the development of marking rubrics etc.

I completed the online Norfolk session and was very interested in the ways in which rubrics can be standardised plus material added to enhance the feedback for students. It was a very useful session. I will certainly have a serious 'play' with the program to prepare for using it when appropriate. My next session is exam marking. I was also excited about the potential for sending voice messages to students as personalised feedback - great! Any CPD program on engaging with distance students would be helpful.
2. The analytics session material on using data to assess student progress in the absence of interpersonal cues was excellent. Anything we can do to make distance education more individual and personalised is a bonus.

Ann Poulos

1. I attended the Norfolk introduction session. It was very useful to see real-time instructions on how set up the rubrics and save comments. I expect this will make my marking much more efficient in the future and allow me to provide even more feedback for students, which is great.
2. I have now downloaded Norfolk and have had a play around with the settings. I plan to use it for my marking over the summer session.
3. I have found this personal development initiative very useful. As a casual employee I have not had this sort of opportunity before. I think it would be great if these sorts of classes were offered each year.

1. I learnt about monitoring student engagement primarily through retention centre on Interact2. A beyond useful tool that I have used almost every day since
2. I have been monitoring student engagement and made contact with 'at risk' students in a hope to increase their engagement, in particular their review of interact material.
3. Additional information sessions on customisation of retention centre and incorporating tools that Interact2 can provide to increase student engagement.

1. I attended the CSU graduates: Building a world worth living in. I learned about where CSU and our graduates fit into the world and the differences we are making in the community. I t was interesting to communicate with other people within the faculty. The presentation gives a better understanding of where we fit in the student's lives and what else we are striving towards.

2. As someone who only works as a demonstrator on a smaller campus, I tend to feel we are very isolated from the rest of the faculty. It is great to feel like mixing with others within the faculty and feel like I am more part of the whole. The presentation b brought back into focus what we are all striving towards.

3. No specific suggestions. I made the mistake of not ensuring the correct software was installed in my local video conference room, so had a bit of difficulty being interactive. I will be better prepared next time.

David Hughes

Russell's reflection:

1. I attended a session on Graduate learning outcomes, learning about what they are and the requirements for their inclusion into courses.
2. My current work with CSU does not lend itself to me making much use of the material, but who knows what the future holds..
3. I would like to be able to attend some sessions on Norfolk in the future, my timetable clashed with them this time around unfortunately.

1. Reflection on what I learned: It was good to learn more about Norfolk, especially how it can be used to "automate" the marking with the marking criteria rubrics. I was also interested to learn that I could include audio comments which might be easier than typing in comments. As most of my studetns submit their assignments as pdfs I would not use the other editing and commenting tools as much.
2. How to put into practice? Hope to make the use of the marking criteria rubics and automated totaling as that part can be time consuming.
3. Other professional development? Anything associated with Adobe Connect and making effective videos of lecture material.
