At the same time General George Washington was marching his army north and the French nary started to Yorktown by sea. The British army was now surrounded at Yorktown and 11 days the fought  then the British sent up a white flag for surrender. The battle was finally over. Around 8,000 British troops surrendered in Yorktown. It was not the end of the war ,but it made the British feel that they would not win.
