Strategies for Tom and Emily (case studies) - LT - group 2

Tom:
Through utilising a book, Tom would be able to use the images and vocabulary to highlight different emotions such as loneliness and fear. 'The Red Tree' is a great book to use for emotional literacy and especially in Tom's case, where he can feel lonely and isolated from his peers.

Emily:
Through using 'paint a picture' Emily would be encouraged to paint a picture of her day. Through allowing her to pick her own colour and allowing time for her to think, she is given the opportunity to think about her day. After the painting is done, ask her to explain it, such as:
'Why have you picked that colour?'
'What does it show when the line goes this way?'
