It is with a heavy heart that I relay to you that Sally Maaz, 6th Yr, has sadly passed away. Sally's indefatigable spirit ensured she lived as full a life as possible.  Sally was a fine young person who will be remembered fondly by students and staff alike. We extend our sympathies to her sister Janna and all her family. May she Rest in Peace.

There was Sally, bright-eyed and sparkling, gliding around the stage performing an unusual dance! I was struck that day by her confidence and bravery to get up on stage and perform this dance in front of her peers. I have since learned a lot about the fighting spirit Sally possessed, I watched her blossom and grow but also do battle and fight. Lots of students hate school - Sally would have done anything to be in school! We’ve lost a treasure today and our school is all the better for having had Sally as part of our family. Sally has left a great legacy, she has taught each of us of the importance of grabbing each day and making the most of it, give everything you do 100%, not to be afraid and to believe in yourself. For a lot of us, it takes us a lifetime to learn these valuable lessons, Sally had it figured out at a young age, she was mature beyond her years! May her beautiful and sparkling soul rest in peace.  
My sincere sympathies to Sally’s parents, her sister Janna and younger brother Gany, who will have to carry the burden of her loss, also to her extended family Classmates and friends.

Sally was a kind caring pupil in Carrick NS and always brought joy to everyone. She had a bubbly personality and had a generous side in helping any pupil who needed assistance. She was witty, funny and intelligent  and she lit up the room when she entered as a chatty perky girl who loved life. She rarely missed a day from school and loved talking about her relations in the Middle East and the different lifestyle over there. Sally will be sorely missed by her family especially Janna and her parents and extended family and she left her mark on everyone who knew her. I personally have wonderful memories of her time in Carrick NS and especially on my last day when she presented me with a lovely card. Her thoughtfulness shone in abundance. She’s now in a photo in my hall holding that card proudly. I’m delighted that I had the privilege of teaching Sally. She may be gone but her memories linger on forever. Slan. Its okay to grieve. Take as long as you need. Wounds don’t heal overnight, neither do broken hearts. It might take days or weeks or years. Many tears and sad days. I promise things will be okay. Remember the good times and recall, how much they love you. As long as you love them still, they are not gone.

I hope you enjoy your new life in heaven, i didnt know you well but you seemed like a lovely girl and your were really pretty. no doubt you would have gotten high marks in your LC as you were very smart. Heaven has gained another angel,but God takes the best angels💔
