*Top 5
When the family of Edwards goes onto a ship, Edward goes overboard and ends up not being able to be recovered by Adeline, but a fisherman, then Edwards' journey starts to go from family to family and he realizes how much he missed his original family. The best part of the book in my opinion was the beginning of each chapter because it presented a photo of Edward and something else which helped me imagine what was going on throughout Edward’s journey. The connection to this book that I found super interesting is the parts where Edward was never happy until he realized how great his life was with Adeline and her family.

This story was about some sea lions that were trying to sit on a rock, but the other ones were saying there is no room for them on the rock and to go back to where they came from. This book can also show a deeper meaning for children that they might not understand when they are younger, but it has the golden rule of treating others how you want to be treated.

*Top 5
This book is very empowering for more than just children. The story of this children’s book is how someone is talking about how they are every good thing, I enjoyed it because it was affirmations and when you continue to repeat these things, you actually start to believe them. The ending was my favorite part because it was repeating how “I am loved” which definitely is hard for some people to believe.

Then, there becomes new laws for the otters to protect them and they are able to live there again which is the love for the otters.

This book is about a girl who basically has a ‘perfect’ life until her cousin moves in and messes up the dynamic of her family. Hannah is the perfect one and she is considered the popular girl at school, but now with Cal there (who gets bullied and doesn’t have many friends), Hannah is struggling. It was honestly kind of a sad book because of everything Cal had been through, he would act up a lot and Hannah and her dad didn’t hide any of their emotions of how they felt about him. The ending of this story was actually really nice and special where Cal and Hannah realize they are a lot more alike than different.

The theme of this book is doing the most for the people you love, even if you don't have much. Hunger itself is a narrator and it's function is to explain and fill in the story. It is written in a prose style and we hear from many of those poor, unfortunate people in their own words. I found it surprisingly effective. Can't help but feel for these people, their options were so limited, and they did the best they could with the little they had.
