🗞️

Reading Hub — Bringing Books Back to Life

Hello, everyone!

My name is Narimanova Dilinur and I’m from 10 grade. This project i do with my friend Sheriyazdanova Amira and our executor Turdakhunova Gulzira S. Today I’m proud to introduce a brand-new project that has recently started at our school — the “Reading Hub” Club.

The main aim of this club is to help students get back into reading and discover how books can actually be fun, inspiring, and useful. Many young people these days give up on reading, thinking it’s boring or old-fashioned. Our club wants to change that mindset by showing that reading can bring people together, build creativity, and even improve language skills.

At Reading Hub, we plan to carry out a lot of exciting activities throughout the year. Every week, our members will get together to read and discuss one chapter of a chosen book — in English. We’ll talk over the plot, characters, and lessons we can learn. This helps everyone brush up on their English and build up their confidence in speaking.

One of our main traditions will be the “Reader of the Month” award — a title for the student who stands out for effort, curiosity, and love for reading. Winners will receive certificates, small gifts, and recognition in our school newspaper.

Apart from discussions, we’re also planning:

📖 Reading Marathons — where students take on the challenge of reading a set number of pages or books each month.

🎭 Book Days and Literary Quizzes — fun events where participants act out scenes, take part in quizzes, and show off their book knowledge.

💬 Story Talks — open meetings where students speak up about their favorite books, share reviews, or recommend new reads.

🧠 Creative Workshops — sessions to come up with new book covers, posters, and alternative endings to famous stories.

📚 Kazakh Legends Week — a cultural event where we look into Kazakh myths and compare them with English tales, exploring moral lessons and cultural values.

🎨 Poster Competitions — where teams work on creative ways to promote reading among younger students.

📸 Photo Challenges — “Catch Me Reading!” where students send in pictures of themselves reading in unusual or funny places.

All these activities are meant to make reading part of our everyday life — not a task, but a pleasure.

Our goal is to build up a community of active, curious, and creative readers who love discovering new worlds through books.

We also plan to reach out to younger students from primary grades. During short visits to their classrooms, our members will talk about the benefits of reading and hand out bookmarks and mini booklists. We believe it’s important to start off this habit early, so children learn to read not just because they’re told to, but because they truly enjoy it.

The “Reading Hub” is more than just a club — it’s a space where imagination, culture, and language meet.

So let’s pick up a book, open our minds, and set off on a new reading journey together! 📚✨

-Dilinur

Our School Uniform

In our school, the uniform is one of the most important elements, as it not only unites the students but also gives a special style and beauty. All classes try to look neat, and each grade has its own unique features.

For example, the younger students. Their uniforms look very stylish and harmonious. In class 1 “A”, the children wear blue-green polos. This looks truly amazing and gives the class a special brightness. Sayara Velikovna’s class looks really friendly and modern.

In class 1 “B”, the students wear red vests and red ties. Their uniform resembles that of a strict gymnasium, which creates an impression of discipline and seriousness. Sayara Abdulinovna’s class looks incredibly stylish and solid.

In class 1 “?“, led by their teacher Mukhabat Makhmutovna, even in physical education lessons all students are dressed the same. They wear bright yellow T-shirts, which creates an atmosphere of friendship and unity.

In class 2 “B”, taught by Makhiryam Kadirzhanovna, the uniform is kept in strict gray tones. The girls wear skirts and vests, while the boys wear only vests. The gray color gives them a neat and strict appearance, and the whole class looks very elegant.

In class 3 “?”, led by Gulbadam Izbasarovna, the uniform is also kept in a strict style: the girls wear skirts and vests, while the boys wear only vests, but with beautiful emblems. This makes their appearance more representative and gives the whole class a special charm.

Thus, the school uniform in our school is not just clothing. It fosters a sense of unity, helps students be organized and disciplined, and emphasizes the beauty and individuality of each class. Thanks to this, our school looks stylish, modern, and very friendly.

Autumn Celebrations at Our School: Language Day and Teacher’s Day

September and early October became truly festive times for our school. We celebrated two important events – the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan and Teacher’s Day. Both holidays brought joy, new experiences, and a sense of unity to everyone who took part.

Language Day

On September 11, our school held events dedicated to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan. This holiday reminds us that language is the greatest treasure of a nation and the foundation of its culture. In every class, special lessons were organized where students learned about the history of the holiday, took part in quizzes, and enjoyed creative activities.

A special moment of the celebration was congratulating the teachers: as a sign of respect and gratitude, they were given chocolates decorated with the flag of Kazakhstan. These small but heartfelt gifts created an atmosphere of friendship and appreciation.

Teacher’s Day

Today, October 3rd, our school celebrated another important and touching holiday: Teacher's Day. A festive concert was held in the assembly hall, where students performed songs, danced, and offered heartfelt congratulations. At the end of the concert, each teacher received a rose—a symbol of gratitude and respect.

In addition, beautifully decorated boxes made by students of different classes were placed in the school corridors. Anyone could sign a chocolate and put it into a box. Later, the chocolates were distributed to teachers, bringing smiles and joy to their faces.

An especially memorable part of the day was the Student Self-Government project. Pupils of the 10th and 11th grades acted as teachers and conducted lessons for the 6th graders. For the older students, it was a valuable experience, and for the younger ones – an exciting and unusual school day.

Both celebrations reminded us of values worth cherishing: the importance of our native language and the great work of teachers. These days became a true source of inspiration for both students and educators, showing that school life can be bright, joyful, and full of mutual respect.

BREAKING NEWS

Hello, dear friends!

My name is Sevara Ibadullaeva, I’m an 11th-grade student and a correspondent for our school newspaper “Grateful Descendants.” Today I’m excited to share some wonderful news about an inspiring new project that has recently been launched at our school — “School News.”

This is a modern student-led media initiative aimed at making school life more open, engaging, and dynamic. Its main goal is to keep everyone — students, teachers, and parents — informed about what’s happening in our school and to encourage active participation in the community. “School News” was created to bring people together, highlight achievements, and make sure that every voice can be heard.

The project was initiated by three active students from Grade 10 — Intizar Munazhdinova, Shakhinur Sautova, and Almina Basitova, under the guidance of Ms. Adalyat Renatovna and Ms. Nigara Shakhamzhanovna. Thanks to their energy, teamwork, and dedication, our school now has its own platform where students can not only read about the latest updates but also contribute articles, photos, and ideas themselves.

One of the first events covered by “School News” was held on September 9, 2025, as part of the “Dosbolik” program. The event, titled “No Place for Bullying in Our School!”, focused on raising awareness about bullying prevention. During the meeting, students were introduced to a “trust box,” where they can share their thoughts or concerns anonymously. They also received informational leaflets on how to act in situations involving bullying and were reminded of the school’s psychological support services and hotline numbers. QR codes for contacting the school psychologist were placed on every floor, making help more accessible to everyone.

Another important focus of “School News” is celebrating the achievements of our teachers and students. Recently, our teachers took part in the district competition “Teacher of the Year – 2025” and achieved remarkable results:

– G. S. Turdakhunova won 2nd place,

– V. Z. Valieva received the title “Creative Educator,”

– S. S. Zaynetdinova was recognized for “Best Innovative Practice.”

These victories are a testament to their professionalism, dedication, and love for their work. We are incredibly proud of them and sincerely congratulate our teachers on their well-deserved success!

We would also like to extend special congratulations to Khalida Ziavdinovna Paltaeva, who won an international teaching skills competition. In October, she will represent Kazakhstan at the grand final in Moscow, hosted by the Pushkin Institute. This achievement is a great honor for her and a true source of pride for our entire school community.

The “Grateful Descendants” newspaper, together with the “School News” team, will continue to bring you inspiring stories, interviews, reports, and updates about everything that happens within our school walls. We believe that this project will become a unifying space for creativity, communication, and collaboration.

Stay tuned, keep reading “School News,” and be part of our growing and inspiring school family!
