Experience:
It was spectacular to see the occultation event of Mars by about 5 day old 25% waxing Crescent moon.  The view of 4.91" angular size Mars going behind and emerging out of the 30' 3.7" size Moon was simply an Astronomer's Delight. Occultation took place very close to Orion, the Hunter (Kalpurush Taramandal), This proximity of Mars to Mrigashira Nakshatra and Betelgeuse made the panoramic view after egress spectacular. Both Moon and Mars were about 2 degrees of Gemini.
