I looked at LiveJournal and this website is essentially just a website for blogs. Students can post their thoughts on any subject and other students can comment. The set up seems a little complicated so that would be a con but once it is set up students will have a place to post compositions of their thoughts that are longer than a couple sentences. This would probably serve high school and middle school better than elementary since it is for longer posts than Twitter

I think this would be an application would have to approved by the district to allow access to the website. There would have to be some way to modify it so students would not be able to see inappropriate things on the application. I do think it could be a great source to use with gifted children. It is definitely an application that could be used to create a product within any academic subject. It would just need time to plan and construct criteria that children would have to meet in the vine they create.

Students would have to make a school specific handle. I could use it to post classroom updates, assignments, or resources. Students could use it to ask questions or collaborate from home. The definite con is the inappropriate handles/hashtags out there. Is there anyway this could be blocked during school hours? Pros are that students would be very eager and engaged to participate.

imgur would be great for students looking for images to share that relate to their topic instead of going on google images ( i also think there is a safe feature on it) . the memes on it could also provide them with inspiration for their own memes

Websites like flicker/behance/istock are large image/vector/photo databases. These work well when students need help visualizing their idea further than what their imagination conjured up. The image content on these websites are sourced from professional artist and hobbyists. The offer more creative search returns than google or bing
