Looking back to when I was coming into 6th grade something that I wish I knew was how much of a difference there was with homework. Last year i would have like one math sheet and a paragraph but now i have 3 times that. Also something that i wish that i knew would be that every assignment that you hand in really counts. I cant remember one test or quiz that I studied for last year. I wouldn’t even care about my grade at al. This year your final average in evry class carries up with you to high aschool. Because of all of this work in sixth grade i wish that i knew how stressful it was going to be. I thought that it was just going to be new school same amount of work. Not even close. Finally, I wasn’t In any classes with my friends from my old school, i wish i knew that I would make a lot of new friends/ that is what I wish that I knew when I was going into 6th grade.

I think that an incoming student should know how to use a lock, knowing what their teachers were like and where their classrooms were. One tip is to stay organized so that way you know where your work is.

I think the new students should understand that after the first week everything is fine and its a great time. If you just relax then it all works out but to be honest there is nothing to worry about because everyone is a little confused at first.

Looking back on my 6th grade experience one thing I think that an incoming 6th grader should know is how important it is to manage your time well. This is important because there is a big difference between the amount of projects and assignments in 5th grade to the amount of assignments and projects in 6th grade and if you do not get everything in on time it will hurt your grades. And as a side note if you have Mr.Lavelle don’t be late to his class! :)

All ting considered i think that sixth graders should know to stay organized because it really impacts how you will do in the upcoming months and days. With all your classes it is essential to stay organized because you have many papers, tests, projects, etc. If you decide not to be organized you can lose papers and other valuable grades. Also i think it is essential that you walk briskly in the hallways. So that you can get to class on time. Tardy’s dont look good on your grade. Also it is inconvenient to other students who try to get to class if your in thier way. This is what i think a student should know coming into sixth grade.

Looking back to the time when I first walked into the school, I wish I had looked at my schedule. I would tell incoming 6th graders to hold on to your schedule. It’s good to have your schedule since day one til the last day because classes might change or it might be hard to remember your schedule. I would tell them to look at what room is your next class and to look at other classrooms to see where it is. I made a certain path to go to class so I wont forget. This could be helpful to 6th graders when they first get their schedule. I messed up with my schedule many time, but its okay! The new student can be able to go to class in time before the bell and get organized and situated before the teachers give instructions.

Looking back on sixth grade I feel that there are a couple of big things to pay attention to and should do to be successful in 6th grade. One thing is to plan out. Not only hw, but projects. It is never a good idea to wait till the last minute to finish a project or to gather materials. Basically don’t put yourself in a bad position where you have to rush your work. Secondly something I would advise is studying for finals or assignments. Especially for Language classes where you aren’t as familiar with the content. There are many other things that you should do, but these are just a couple of the big ones.

The most important thing they should know is to not be scared. Tests are pretty easy in 6th grade. If you study and remember everything, you will be fine. About studying, dont overdo it. Only review what you need to. It only makes you more nervous. Also, don’t be afraid to try and make new friends. Everyone is pretty nice. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people. And if you ever need help with anything, tests, people, or work, ask a teacher. Last important thing, don’t try to be popular, it’s just not worth it

Looking back, the best thing you can do to make it through sixth grade physically alive is to do all your homework/work right away and to take nothing to heart (such as insults) and to make friends early in the year or better yet have friends on your team before you even enter sixth grade. Also instead of getting less work at the end of the year, you get bombarded with homework. Thirdly, always check to make sure you did your homework multiple times (especially on the weekends). And always remember, value your hand more than someone you don’t know’s iPad (radiators are hot!)

An incoming Sixth Grader should know that they have to survive this place because for me, i barely came out alive. At the middle months of the school year, so much homework is given i almost fainted. I had to stay up very late to sometimes finish it, mostly because i already sleep when i come back from school. So Sixth Graders should do their homework in class, ahead of time because itll be worth the trouble. Another thing they should watch out for is their enemies. They can be many, little, small or tall, at least stay away from them. Not saying you should stay a 20-feet radius in a circle away from them, i mean avoid at least making some drama happen. And last but not least. FRIENDS. Your last year school friends? They could be gone, abandoned, or staying away from you, just make a good impression, and you will get lots of friends in time. "And what about the teachers?" Stay away from Mr. Lavelle and others like him, like Ms. Levin, She might be nice, but she yells kinda a lot also.Make a good impression, and you will befriend them. Also don
't get your locker raided, sometimes that happens. But like once in the entire school year in a team. Middle School is a big transition, so watch out boiz, keep the time in your mind, do your work, and stay E.

A few major things I would say all 5th graders need to know to survive sixth grade are: never be late to gym, always do your homework, studying is a waste of time (for me at least), don’t plagiarize in VRE, don’t worry about bullies or making friends, and finally, do not, I repeat DO NOT mess with Mr. Lavelle.

I think that incoming 6th graders should know at least a couple of things. I think that for starters 6th graders should go into 6th grade knowing that there not going to get a reading log per week from one teacher, but at least a couple different assignments from all of your teachers. I think another thing that would be useful for the incoming 6th graders is to know how to navigate around a building while being in a rush because that’s pretty much what i was worried about most. And a final thing I think that the incoming 6th graders should know is that you shouldn’t expect all of the work not to count even if it is a homework assignments because everything (and I repeat everything) counts. As you can see this is what the incoming 6th graders should know for coming to Eastview.

I think that one important thing an incoming sixth grader should know is how to productively study. Back in elementary school, studying was easy because you got review packets, or in some instances, you didn’t even need to study. But, in Eastview, studying is most of your work, and you have to find out a strategy that works best to study for you. I would also say, get to your class on time. Teachers get upset when students are late and this is your first year switching classes, so it is a new concept.

This is what i think the incoming 6th graders should know.
