The Beggining

Last week was a very memorable week for me. I went on a Mission Trip to serve people. The story start on Saturday morning on September 16th I went to school to meet my friends. We went to Gambir Station together using Gocar. It was so awkward because at that moment I didn’t know them very well. We sat at the Gocar for almost one hour in silent. When we finally arrived at Gambir Station, we lifted our things into the train. The situation was very hectic but also fun. After that the train departed at 10.30 am to Surakarta.

Chapter One

The next day on Sunday, we visited a church called GKI Masaran. I was assigned to be a singer in the afternoon service with my two other friends. But we were so confused and panicked because we don’t know the song at all. Luckily we arrived at the church a few hours early. So after that we practiced together with their usual church singer. It was a new experience for me to be a singer in a church service. All of us was so happy that everything went smoothly. Lastly before we go back to the hotel, the church prepared us dinner. The food is a typical soup from Surakarta, it tasted very good. I only ate one plate and i felt full already. But when I saw my friend, he ate 6 plates of the soup. Everybody was shocked to see that. And finally first service was completed and we went back to the hotel.

Chapter Two

Next on Monday we visited an orphanage in Boyolali. The name of the orphanage is Rumah Peduli Anak. They were very excited to see us and they welcomed us warmly. Firstly we sang together, next we maked a house from puzzles, and then the boys played football on the field, last we dance together. I was very happy because at that time I met twin boys who were very young. Their names are Juan and Junior. Both of them are inseparable, if one of them leave the other one will come along. Also at that day I tried to be a photographer, I documented some moments there. All of the things we did on that day were such a fun and memorable experience.

Chapter Three

On the fifth day we went to visit two places. The first place was SD Kartasura. Right when we just arrived, the greeted us very cheerfully. Many fo them immediately asked our names. We did so many activities there. The first activity was ice breaking, and then after that we did a story telling about Noah and Daniel. The second place was a nursing home. The activities here were very simple but it touched my heart. When i saw the grandparents there i felt really sad. Me and some of my friends cried when we said goodbye to them. Last before we went back to the hotel, we visited a museum called Surakusuma. It is an outdoor museum where we are guided and explained about some of the arts there.

All of us felt really sad when we wake up on Friday. Time flies so fast without we realized. The first thing we did was packed our stuff back to our suitcase. We gathered in the hotel lobby. Next we went to the souvenir center. I bought some things for my family. After that we rushed to Solobalapan station because we were almost late. Luckily we werent late, in fact we still had time to buy coffee. We finally entered the train and went back to Gambir station. From this mission trip I learned a lot of new things and met new friends. I felt very grateful.
