This week

• This week in maths, we have started learning about how to calculate the difference between two points.

• Students have used their ruler to measure a range of objects, using key vocabulary 'measure, estimate, length, shorter and longer' to describe each object.

Next week

• Next week, we will be understanding the difference between length and height.

• Students will work out the difference between a shorter object and a longer object.

• They will be able order objects from shortest to longest.

2. ESL

This week

• Students continued Unit 2 - Good neighbours.

• Students focused on different occupations and talked about where things are.

• Occupation vocabulary: Police officer, nurse, window cleaner, reporter, bus driver, firefighter.

• Language focus: Prepositions (on, in, under, by, next to, infront of, behind, between, opposite).

Next week

• Students will continue with Unit 2 - Good Neighbours.

• Students will practice to ask and answer questions about where they live and what they see in their neighbourhood.

• Vocabulary of vowels followed by 'R': teacher, dancer, painter, baker, singer, farmer, actor, street cleaner

• Vocabulary : pet shop, bookshop, toy shop, sweet shop, café, shoe shop, clothes shop, sports shop, bicycle shop, phone shop, computer shop.

• Language focus: Present continuous tense (what are you doing? I am running) Asking and answering questions

3. SCIENCE

This week

• This week we have started our new Science unit; Forces.

• We have been identifying push and pull forces.

• We have discussed how there are big forces and small forces.

• Students were able to describe the difference between objects which need a big force to move an object and a smaller force to move an object.

Next week

• UNIT 2.2: Students will learn how forces changes the shape of an object.

• They will study a range of objects and begin to identify patterns between them.

This week

• Students will began a new challenge 'Family matters'.

• Students found out how many brothers and sisters each person has and were able to discuss the importance of family.

Next week

• Students will continue to learn the new challenge 'Family matters'.

• Students will create simple a simple bar chart to record the results and anaylse the data.
