No, the villain is far more concerned about simply achieving what they set out to accomplish. It more about the product rather than the process. While heroes concern themselves with doing so in an honorable way, villains will disregard others safety or well being so long as they get what they want.

The villain does not view their own journey as important as a hero views their quest or journey due to the reasons that differ for each embarking upon the journey. The hero embarks upon the journey to save others and attain a sense of pleasure while the villain often aims to cause destruction or chaos. I believe that humans become more attached to good feelings of pleasure which would provide more motivation for the hero to continue. As a result, the hero would have a deeper connection to his journey and it would therefore be more important.

A villain views their journey as a steeping stone to their final goal, not as defining their character as a hero views their journey. A villains journey is more like a plan of action than a series of defining moments. A villain normally has a goal or agenda set in mind before they begin their journey. A hero never expects their journey to begin and grows due to the sudden challenges placed before them. A villain tends to experience little or no growth during their journey. This is the main difference between a hero and villains journeys. A hero mush evolve with the journey or fail while a villain already has a plan on what will happen. This concept can be seen in Grendel with the conflict between Grendel and Unferth. Unferth claims to be a hero but goes through no change that is typical of a heroes journey. Due to this lack of change Unferth does not adapt to fight Grendel and fails every time he attempts to kill Grendel. On the other hand, Grendel's plain remains as his main goal is to kill the Danes at the meed hall. If Beowulf did not interfere with this cycle I believe it would have continued until Grendel or Unferth died outside of the battlefield.

I feel as if the Villain does feel as if their journey is as important as the hero because they don't see themselves as less then compared to the hero. I think a villains confidence level shows how they think they're journey is just as important.
