         <description><![CDATA[<div>This attempt to implement educational robotics plans in this country dates back to 2013.<br><br>During 2013, under the "Education to Think" program of the Ministry of Education (Minerd) and the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (Intec), a total of 30 students received robotics, engineering and mechatronics classes.<br><br>The practices were carried out with the Mindstrom NXT children's robot from the international company Lego,<br>designed as an Introduction to robotics and with the necessary parts for students to structure their robot.<br><br>The Implementation of educational robotics in the Republic<br><br>The Dominican Republic emerged on May 31, 2014, through teacher training in the areas of science and technology, given at the Fray Ramón Pané School, in the Jardines del Norte sector, of the National District.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In 2015, 418 computer labs were installed in educational centers for the basic and intermediate levels, technological equipment was acquired for 2,000 basic-level classrooms and 200 for the initial level, according to official sources.<br><br>In 2015, the Vice Presidency of the Republic, through the Community Technological Centers (CTC), decided to give courses and workshops on "Educational Robotics".<br><br>Educational robotics proposes an interdisciplinary teaching system that maximizes the development of skills and competencies in boys and girls by covering subjects such as science, technology, engineering and mathematics, which in English is known as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Objective of Educational Robotics&nbsp;<br><br>The objectives pursued in Educational Robotics are related to specific points contained in the National Development Strategy (END) 2010-2030 and the National Pact for Educational Reform 2014-2030.<br><br>Within the educational project, two primary approaches have been established:<br><br>Robotics as a pedagogical instrument: Through the construction of robotic prototypes, the aim is to strengthen student learning in the areas of science and mathematics, in addition to contributing to developing their own skills for their personal development.<br><br>Robotics as an end in itself: Pursues the development of technical knowledge regarding the inertia of electronics, software and mechanics. Allowing the student body to know the components, the operation, the creation and programming of robotic prototypes.<br><br>The main objectives of the Educational Robotics project are:<br>· Motivate the study of basic sciences.<br>· Develop students' creativity.<br>· Use new technologies as a basis for learning.<br>· Learning by doing.<br>· Link robotics to the educational curriculum.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Educational Robotics team selects the schools and gives workshops with the teachers on educational robotics, scratch and programming. To be chosen, schools must have a functioning computer lab and preferably be Extended Day.<br>Teachers are disorders in workshops of 5 weeks (15 hours). Two teachers are selected for each center, one of computer science and the other of science. At the end of the workshop, the teachers have the commitment to continue replicating the knowledge acquired with the other teachers of the center.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
