Lesson 1 > How to study: this is what I do now and what I used to do in the past.

I have good and bad habits for studying.
One of my worst habits is using my phone while studying, sometimes I try to put it in a different room, but I often need it so I go back and get it. Sometimes it is useful because I also use it to ask my classmates for infomation when I don't understand something or to help them. In the past I used it a lot more, now I try to use it less.
In the past to prepare for an exam I used to study a few weeks in advance, but now I start studying 2/3 months in advance to organize my time better.
I study in the desk in my room, where there is a window facing the street, and I often hear distracting noises or neighbors yelling, so I can't always concentrate 100%.
I can't study with background sounds, I appreciate the silence.

When I study to remember concepts I repeate them out loud and use some tricks such as taking notes in class and integrating them with the books and

resources that the teacher suggests.

I also write summaries with easier words to understand better.
It is very important for me to understand what I study because I can't remember the information if I don't understand it. I don't use concept maps because I prefer to study with summaries.
I usually take a study break every two hours because I often lose too much time and lose concentration.
Finally, after my first year of college, I learned that it is very useful and fun to study in a group: I concentrate much more than when I am in my room alone and I can also understand concepts better!

I don't have many friends but the ones I have are good ones. It is good to know that you have someone by your side at all times, for better or worse.
For me, this is one of the main aspects of friendship.
The kind of friend I prefer is the one that's always there for me, whether I have good days or bad days.
To be good friends it is important not to feel judged and to be able to talk openly: my friends and I are like sisters from another mother.
To cultivate a relationship I maintain open and honest communication with my friends and try to understand their perspectives.
I am always there for my friends, offering emotional support, listening to their problems and trying to find solutions together.
I support their choices and always appreciate the efforts they make for me.
I accept and respect the differences between me and them, I often learn and discover new things because of it.
When there are misunderstandings or conflicts I forgive and apologize when necessary.
Friendships play a vital role in making me happy: friends can encourage me to grow and achieve goals.
My friends enrich my life and contribute to making me feel good.
Friends bring out the best part of me.

Lesson 6 > Where is your happy place? Why is it your happy place?

I don't have a specific happy place, it often changes. One place where I feel happy is in my house near the lake, because it is surrounded by a large garden, which give me so much peace and joy. I usually rest on the grass and listen to music. I can also hear the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks.
In addition, I love to take long walks alone by the lake. In this situation I feel happy because I can free my mind and observe my favorite panorama.
All bad thoughts go away.
Finally, for me happiness comes not only from a place, but from the people with whom I spend time in a place. For example when I am with my boyfriend every place for me becomes happy!

Lesson 10 > An experience I have had in my life in which I had to communicate across cultures.

During secondary school I went to Ireland (Dublin) and lived there for 8 days with an Irish family. Initially, the language barrier posed a significant challenge. Even though I spoke English, the communication was quite difficult, because they had a different accent from what I had learned in school and they spoke very fast. Moreover, it seemed as though they could not perceive some topics in the same way I did.
During my time in Dublin, I encountered numerous situations where I had to overcome cultural differences in order to communicate and relate effectively with the family. Initially, I was frustrated, but then I started to adopt their perspectives and customs, so everything became better.
One different thing I had noticed was that the family didn't eat together: for me it was a strange thing because my family and I have all our meals together.
Overall, this experience has enriched me and improved my ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries. I have become more self-aware, and I have understood the importance of being able to respect other peoples views.

Lesson 11 > Meeting people from different cultures: what I do and how I behave.

Meeting people from different cultures can be an enreaching and rewarding experience. It provides an opportunity to learn about different perspectives, traditions and ways of life.
When I meet people of different cultures I try to approach them with an open mind: I eliminate stereotypes and I am open to learn and understand their culture without judging. I'm very curious to know different lifestyles, new languages and traditions.
I respect cultural differences and recognize cultural norms, customs and traditions that differ from my own. I show respect for these differences and don't impose my values on the others. I demonstrate genuine interest in learning about the other person's culture.
I ask questions, but also pay attention to personal topics that might be considered inappropriate to discuss. It's not easy because you don't know who you're dealing with but if you keep an open mind it could be more.

I am empathetic and patient in case of misunderstandings caused by language. I speak clearly and use simple words.
So basically, it is essential to approach cultural interactions with an open mind, respect and a desire to learn. In this way, it is possible to build meaningful relationships and create a more inclusive community.
Finally, for me, having an open mind, being kind, patient and polite are the right qualities to have a conversation with someone from a different culture.
