It is an iconic hotpot restaurant in China - there are few Chinese people who have never had Haidilao.

Among all the hotpot dishes, I love chewy shrimp balls and boneless duck feet in tomato soup.

Haidilao is famous for its excellent customer service. In Haidilao, you just need to eat and the waiter will take care of anything else. They even have shoe-shining and manicure services.

Last year, my friend celebrated her birthday at Haidilao. She received lots of small gifts from Haidilao and the waiters and waitress sang a happy birthday song to her together. Even though it was a little bit embarrassing, we all had a great time there.

It's a Korean  restaurant opened during 5PM-11PM, and famous for it's fried chicken and tteokbokki.

Pic 2. 🍗Boneless chicken half with Sweet&Spicy sauce
You can choose with bone and boneless chicken with different kinds of sauce based on your own favourite. I like boneless chicken more! Sweet & Spicy sauce and cheese are highly recommended.

Pic 3. Seafood Pancake🫓
It contained different kinds of vegetables and seafood (you can find lots of squid roll inside). The sauce above is sweet and sour sauce, it would be much more better to eat the pancake with the sauce!

Pic 4. Tteokbokki
it's a famous Korean food with rice cake, fish cake, bean vermicelli, fried chicken, vegetables, fried dumplings and so on. You can choose the spicy level by yourselves. You guys can easily find the warung, it's located near Ketandan Gate, around 100 meters to the east. Or you can search for it on Google Maps with “Sate Babi Ketandan”. It opens at 5-8 pm. This restaurant sells my two favorite Chinese foods, bakmoy and pork satay. These are also the authentic foods in Ketandan, the Chinatown of Yogyakarta. 
 
When you arrive, the smoke of grilled satay will make you hungry. It cost Rp8.000 for one skewer and Rp16.000 for a bowl of bakmoy. As you can see in the photo, I bought 3 skewers and a bakmoy, so I spent like Rp40.000. 

Sate Babi Ketandan has a warm and friendly ambience. A restaurant with a street concept makes it easy for visitors to stop by. Friendly sellers make visitors feel at home and want to visit again. 

Although the satay and bakmoy look so tasty, remember: it contains pork. So, make sure that you are allowed to eat pork as well.

Unfortunately all I know Sugakiya is only on Jakarta, so I can not find it in here in Yogyakarta.

Their main menu is ramen but if you want to try another dish there are rice bowl. Let me tell you about the menu in Sugakiya. The first one is ramen I was shocked because the ramen is really cheap but it is really delicious, there are a lot of topping on their ramen, you can also add free chili and pepper. The second one is the rice bowl, not only cheap but it can make your stomache full and also want to eat more rice bowl at the same time. The last one is the ice cream with red bean sauce. It is really perfect combination the ice cream and the sauce is melts in my tongue. Last but not least the important one is FREE REFILL OCHA.

Here is my top 3 warung soto in UGM area: 

📍Soto Daging Pak Ngadiran
If you like a clear soup, you must try this tasty soto. This warung specially serve soto with beef for it topping. 

📍Soto Ayam Pak Yanto
Simillar to Pak Ngadiran’s soto, but this warung specially for soto ayam. They also have many side dish like sate usus, sate puyuh, ati ayam, and tempe goreng. 

📍Sop dan Soto Pak Nanto
Pak Nanto’s warung have more various menu. Not only soto, they also have chickeen soup and my favorit galantin soup!

Brief memories with my friends. Batam Island is my hometown where every year I flew there and meet my friends. 

Although culinary isn't my hobby, this restaurant has caught my eyes with their beautiful way of serving dishes. There are variations of menu including dim sum and ramen. 

Beside the foods there, I recognized the atmosphere built with my friends laughter and their jokes while we shared our new experiences in college life. It was nice. But, I can give you some recommendations for restaurants, especially to eat meatballs. The sad things are, these restaurants are mostly located in Purworejo. In Yogyakarta, I haven't found a noodle restaurant that has delicious meatballs for me. But that doesn't mean meatballs restaurants in Yogyakarta are bad. I just haven't found it yet. Here it is!

  1. Bakso Malang Kantor Pos Purworejo. They have some packages of meatballs. You can choose your favourite flavour of these. Usually I order package 3, which has various meatballs. The main condiment is tendon meatballs. That's my favourite menu. 
  2. Bakso Pak Slamet. The greatest thing about Bakso Pak Slamet is that they gave a big portion of meatballs at an affordable price. They only have one menu, but it is so delicious. Don't forget to add cucumber hehe. Must try it! 
  3. Bakso Pak Wito. S it's as delicious as Bakso Pak Slamet. They only have one menu too, but you can request the condiments for your dishes. Like adding noodles or not and other condiments that you want.
