My flower garden- April

It might be weird to say having a flower garden was one of my top moments but let me tell you why. Starting my flower garden was very stressful but also enjoyable. At first, I wasn't sure if I should do it because I knew I would probably forget to water them or even take care of them. This moment was special to me because when my great grandma was here to visit she got to see my plants grow and she even got to plant her own seed. Each day they showed progress and it would make me happy. Through mid-spring, my roses started to bloom, even my great-grandmas. Once the roses were fully bloomed we would cut the stem and place them in a vase with water. I would always put the roses next to the Virgin Mary and change the water every 2-3 days to keep them fresh for her. When the day my great-grandma was going back to Mexico arrived she was sad because she was leaving the flowers that she planted. I promised to take good care of her flowers and always plant white roses. A few months passed and my great-grandma passed away. At the funeral, I took the flowers she had planted, made them into a little bouquet, and placed them on her grave. This was a memory I will always cherish and remember.

Going to mexico- June/July

Being in Mexico is such a relieving and fun moment. I hate seeing my family from Mexico twice a year. I wish I could live out there or even see them more often. At the beginning of June, I had booked a flight to visit my family and go to the bailes. I enjoyed going in June and July because I got to spend more time with my cousin. My cousin is like a sister to me because she is always there for me and matches my vibe. She is my "Sister from another mother." Being out there and seeing their struggle has shown me to value and appreciate the things I have and to work hard if I want to become someone in life. Every day I would always be out with my cousins either going to eat or at the bailes. The bailes in Mexico are unforgettable moments and are always fun. You meet new people, you get to dance, and you even get to sing your heart out. It was one of my top moments because I saw my favorite band and spent more time with my friends and family. The worst part about traveling is when it's time to return home. Saying goodbye to your family, friends, and lovers is the saddest because you never know when you will see them again or even if you'll be alive by then.

8th-grade promotion/Saying goodbye to my to my friends- May

At my 8th grade promotion, it was hard saying goodbye to my childhood friends and friends who didn't grow up with me but were still close to me. I had such great memories with my friends and they are unforgettable. Looking back at them just makes me cry because I do wish we were still close. The distance has made it hard for us and we rarely talk. The day of the promotion my friends had surprised me with a bouquet and a post that said "We're gonna miss you." That was a moment I would always remember. When I was in 6th grade I would always say "I can't wait to do my promotion and get out of middle school. In reality, it's sad knowing you are moving on and becoming older and are starting to have responsibilities. Days before my promotion I was very nervous to walk the stage because I was very shy at that time and because when the days got closer to my promotion, I would get very emotional because I knew I wouldn't see my friends every day. I hope I can go hang out with my friends again!

Getting my own horse- December

When I arrived in Mexico my uncles took me to the ranch and told me they had a surprise for me. When I saw the horse next to its mom I was super happy because I've always wanted a horse. I did not expect them to get me a horse because I knew it would be pricey or even a struggle to take care of it after I left. I do hate that I would rarely see my horse especially since I'm in California and it's in Mexico. One week after I got the horse I would always spend my days at the ranch and would start training the horse. I want my horse to learn how to dance at a young age so it can be used to it. I would also love for him to be in competitions and hope to win first. I would put all my dedication into that horse to be successful and happy to see what I've accomplished. Hopefully, soon I get to fly out this summer to Mexico and go see my horse.

My brothers birthday/party- August

My brother's birthday was an unforgettable night. I got to decorate his room and got him some presents. It was hard to choose the gifts knowing my brother is picky with clothes and since he is skinny it was also hard to find things his size. My brother has been there for me through my ups and downs. He has also given me rides everywhere and just for that I wanted to do something special for his birthday. Me and my sister in law also decided to throw my brother a party because we knew he didn't do anything for his birthday. We kept the party a secret and I invited all of his friends and our family. We also got him his favorite grupo and made his favorite dish. The day of the party we made one of his friends take him out to eat while we decorated and prepared. Once everyone showed up my brother was walking in with a blindfold. When he took the blindfold off he was shocked and happy. The whole night we were dancing and singing. I was really happy to see that my brother enjoyed his party.
