Realism depicts the world as it is and doesn't avoid unpleasant or uncomfortable aspects of how people lived at the time. romanticism is completely different from realism. I had learned the difference between romanticism and realism in art. Romanticism is when you paint or draw something based on your emotions and imagination, while realism is when you paint or draw something based on events that happened in real life
