This is a map showing the different landforms/regions of Australia. I chose this picture because it is a very good visual for showing the different regions/landforms. This shows the Eastern Highlands, Central lowlands, Western Plateau, and the Coastal plains.

The Eastern Highlands
The eastern highlands have some of the highest elevations in all of Australia. The region goes from cape york peninsula (northeastern Australia) to the southern coast of tasmania. This region in Australia is the most populated and also has the most rainfall.

The Central Lowlands
The central lowlands have both the most rivers-but only after heavy rainfall-out of all the different regions plus the lowest elevations the majority of the river beds are dry most of the year.

The Western Plateau
This region covers the western two-thirds of Australia. The majority of the central part of this region is dessert but the south and northeast, in which the desert gradually gives way to more grass and shrubs. The heaviest rainfall in all of Australia is in north and southwest of this region.

This is a picture of the predicted amount of rain Australia will get in 2019. This shows that a lot of Australia will only get 2-20 mm of rain while others will get 1200 mm of rain.
Relation to equator
Australia is south of the equator so their seasons are opposite of the U.S. There are still four seasons for Australia. Winter is the wettest and coldest season and is June-August. Summer is the hottest and driest, which is December-February. The northern part of Australia is warm and hot for the whole year because it is on the tropics. The other two thirds of the country that are south of the tropic have summers and winters.

Seasons
The more tropical northern Australia only has a wet season and a dry one. The wet season is in the summer(November to April) the dry season is in the winter(May to October). The wet season has the worst rain and storms, especially on the north coast and flooding can happen. In the dry season, a very serious problem is drought mostly because almost all of Australia has a drought during the dry season.

Precipitation
The majority of the precipitation in Australia is rain. Snow is very rare. Two thirds of Australia receives less than 10 inches of rain every year. Most of the rest of the country gets less than 20 inches of rainfall a year. The most rainfall happens along the north, east, southeast, and the extreme southwest coasts.Queensland is the wettest part of the entire continent some places in this area receives as much as 150 inches of rainfall a year. In this picture, you can see all the main minerals that they mine.

Manufacturing
Different than most other developed countries, Australia imports more manufactured goods than it exports. Australian factories produce most of the consumer goods-i.e: processed foods and household articles-that people need. Australia has to import many of its producer goods: factory machinery, construction equipment, and other goods that are used in production. Iron and steel are the biggest exceptions. The iron and steel industry in Australia produce metals to mostly meet the needs of other industries.
Mining
Australia is rich in mineral resources. Because many deposits are in dry areas that are far from major settlements. These deposits are very expensive to mine. Workers have to construct roads and railways to mine sites to transport the minerals. In some cases, settlements are built closer to the mines so miners and their families have housing.
Agriculture
The agriculture industry in Australia is highly mechanized, only requiring a small amount of human labor. About 3 percent of Australia's workers are farmers and yet produce almost all the food the Australian people need.
