Usually when I am stuck, I'm not actually stuck. I just envision that I am, making the story seem like fact. The devastating photo of Spongebob provides a true view into my mindset. Spongebob has fall, but he is not stuck. He merely believes he is stuck, therefore he does not stand. I am liable to do the same thing, until the moment arrives when I realize the bed of self-pity I lie in is not comfortable.

Want to Break the Rules...

Breaking the rules is one of the most important aspects of art. Every piece, whether it be visual, musical, or literary, that has had an effect on society has broken (or satirized) some backwards rule. Therefore, I will call upon the spirits of artists to give me the inspiration and the will to break the rules with my creation. In writing, I usually try to break the rules using grammar. Syntax is a great way to convey in the most minute way what you are trying to change. I believe that in life I break rules in microscopic ways. Maybe it makes absolutely no difference, but in my opinion it helps. I try to attack outdated prejudices with simple phrases to those that are hostage to them.

The worst thing about the creative process is the fear of failure. I used to write often, but now I no longer do so because I am so afraid of creating something bad. I know how silly this is, considering the only way to get better is to keep creating. It is important to practice all aspects of your craft in order to grow in it.

Nothing in its first form is its greatest. When creating, you can learn from yourself. You can make a mistake and learn from it. Again, failure is not an end. Everyone is flawed, but on the track for perfection. Each mistake I make will be used to illuminate my own person, and in turn, I will be able to continue to grow.
