A quote I would use would be "Dreams may get crushed because others may not have been fulfilled." The reason I chose that theme is because Troy talks about his dream with baseball. He says it was ruined due to the segregation of his time, although Rose says it was because of his age. When Cory is offered a scholarship for football Troy tells him it will get him no where, and he is better off being a mechanic.
