Participate in your classes and check in with your Pod Leaders and teachers if you have any questions.  Teams is the go-to app for this.   You will have to check in with them everyday and at least once a week on-site.  Schedule and keep track of important dates by writing them down in a planner. That's  something to be prepared for. Change happens a lot through out this school. Especially the base of our courses. Some teachers do the same thing every year and others try to switch it up to make things easier for their students. If there is something that you need help understanding then you can not be afraid to ask. If you ask the right person they can help you, if its about one of your courses then talking to your teacher is your best bet, if its something about Schoology or Gladiator then your coach is where you go. It is important to stay on task for the week by checking to see what is due that week. Figuring out how many assignments for each class to complete each day to get all your work done. That way you won’t fall behind for that week. Checking at the end of the week to make sure you did complete all your assignments because sometimes you might have forgotten to turn something in and then you will be able to stay on track. Also communicating with your POD leaders and teacher each week because they will help you with whatever you need help with.

I was almost not guaranteed to graduate on  time and it broke my heart. I've now been given one last chance to prove to myself that I can do it and graduate on time but this method is way more stressful. It's harder and not something you'll have to endure if you stay on track. Manage your time and don't be afraid to ask questions! It'll never hurt anyone but yourself if you don't ask questions!

One thing that you need to know is that it is very easy to fall behind in Goal and very difficult to get caught up. I recommend you set aside time everyday to complete your assignments and homework. my school time goes with my work time it matters on when i have work. For new students on the computers should know that it is a place for work and to cheek in every day to always let your teachers know when you are working over the computer when you are not at the school. One thing I have known when i was new here would be not to be so secretive. My pod teacher is awesome Will is always there to help and he's fun to hang out with. Attendance is important because they need to be aware you are available, and you are doing your work. For me, I choose to speed up and do a ton at once then take a somewhat long break because it lets me cool off. Getting used to all of the new apps and things that you pretty much need to use such as Teams, Schoology, and more could also be quite difficult if you're not on computers much but an easy solution to that could be just asking your teachers or going to site and getting help with learning how everything operates.When I was a new student myself, I wished that I knew that late work was accepted because it would've taken a lot of the stress that I had off of me when I wasn't able to do some assignments. I like that my pod consists of people that genuinely care about my well being and how I am doing. Switching from traditional high school to GOAL could be very difficult because of the heavy adjustments and overwhelming use of computers for assignments but as long as you take your time to get used to the online aspect, you will realize that GOAL is much better for stress management and gives you quite a bit more time to do other things such as work or have fun.

I would also try to stay on top of your schoolwork. Even though it's online and you have A LOT of free time, stay on top of it. It will be hard to get it done on the last day of the semester. Another is stay in contact with your POD Leaders and teachers so you're on the right track to pass classes and turn assignments in. If somehow you didn't get an assignment graded that was turned in, tell your teachers so they can fix it. The last thing I'd do is have fun. You only have High School for 4 years, so have fun, do as much as you can and pass your classes. Good luck and have fun!

    Stay focused and set goals consistently. Going to an online school you must make sure you are meeting your deadlines, taking your quizzes, and turning in your assignments. Also, keep in contact with your POD leaders/teachers each day. Teams is a great way to stay in contact, make sure your adding your teachers.      Schoology is the main platform we use at goal to find assignments and know where you are in your courses. Get to know it well to success in your classes. Check these apps daily and also get to know Microsoft platforms. One thing i do recommend is to get to know your teachers and frequently check in at the site. They always try to feed you so be ready!! If you need a more quiet work zone or just need more of a push definitely make the effort to go into the site. Hope you all are as successful with GOAL Academy as i am.

    I wake up every morning at 7:00 I do what I have to and by 8 or 8:30  I get on.
    Ask as many questions as you need its better to b prepared then not understand  anything.

    What I've learned the past couple years is you really have to just try. I was too lazy to ever open my laptop, and this year I am getting into the habit of at least opening my laptop and doing 15 minutes of school at a time. Motivation is also key. You need to find what gets you moving and ready to learn and use that to fuel your education. I never knew how easy it was to stay on track until I just tried. I'm 100% serious... it is so easy if you just do it and try your hardest to pay attention to it. And doing that in itself keeps me motivated.

Schoology is pretty easy to use but hard to get used too, always ask help if you are confused with it. When I first started I wish I had known that all the staff is so motivating, and that they always wanna help.I love the staff at my site, they feel like family to me. New students at GOAL should know that the computers are ONLY for school work nothing else and schology is the source to find all your courses, grades and announcements.Something I wish I had known as a student is how to screenshot, I still don't know how but I would like to learn. Something I like about the site is that they help you a lot with anything, if you're hungry they have snacks or food, if you're a parent and need help to be able to do work, they will literally babysit for you so you can focus and they support you in every way to get your assignments done.     Advice for new Goal students
    1. Always be on top of your work, maybe finish all of your school work in a couple of days to have the rest of the week off or even start next weeks work if the teacher allows it. 
    2. Always ask for help if you don't understand something.
    3. go on goal ventures trips, they are load of fun!
    4. Make friends with the students at your site or the pod leaders/ teachers there.
    5. take note  throughout the year it will help.
