It gives student the opportunity to explore story elements such as setting, theme, and characters. Students will complete their individual piece of the display and once it is put together they can see how they are all important pieces and wonders in our classroom.
https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Great-WONDER-Novel-Study-Wonder-by-RJ-Palacio-Lesson-Plan-Complement-3139442?utm_source=JK%20blog&utm_campaign=Wonder%20Post

Activity 2:
This is my favorite of the two. Students decorate their "I Am a Wonder" poster. After they finish students can have a "gallery walk" and fill in their classmates posters with reasons they are a wonder or asset to the class.
https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Wonder-Freebie-Wonder-Kindness-Poster-3145038

With Cinderella, however, it is difficult because there are so many versions that date back hundreds of years. I have seen several teachers use the Disney versions of tales like "The Three Little Pigs" Using the classic Disney version of Cinderella would work for this purpose. After reading the Disney version, ask students how Cinderella felt about the wicked step-mother in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. The read Seriously, Cinderella is So Annoying! and compare how the wicked step-mother is feeling at the beginning, middle, and end about Cinderella.

Then, while reading a second time students will have pictures of each item a character brings. When they put the item in the pot, students will glue the item in their own pot to create their own pot of stone soup as they are listening to the story being read to them.
Activity 2:
Students will make their own "classroom" stone soup. After reading, students will brainstorm how to make our classroom a caring place. Discuss the meaning of the book and the lesson it teaches and how we can make our own stone soup in the class.
